autopartsexpert
Toyota iRoad three-wheeler at the 2013 Geneva motor show The Toyota iRoad at the 2013 Geneva motor show is pretty funky, but then so have been a wide variety of Toyota personal mobility projects, everything from the walking iPooh to robotic iUnit leaf-like vehicles. So is there anything different about the iRoad, Toyota’s tilting, rear-steering three-wheeler? Akihiro Yanaka, the general manager of the iRoad, is quick to point out that it is more than just a wacky concept and has moved beyond the prototype stage into field trials which are taking place in Grenoble, France. The tandem-seat runabout has a range of 30 miles of battery-electric motoring, with a three-hour recharge time on a domestic supply. Yanaka says it is aimed at congested urban areas where its manoeuvrability and narrow width (at 850mm it is only just wider than a large motorcycle or scooter) should give it appeal for young gadabouts. He also let slip that it would be good for the under-2.0-litre segment in China, which attracts less tax than larger engined cars. So dear viewers do you think so this vehicle Toyota iroad will be succesfull in the Middle East region?
Jamez
Apart from being funny looks, it also appears to have high center of gravity making easier to topple on speed turns as its on three wheels. Better option would have been to have 2 wheels at back and single in front to make it more stable. Good find for a change..!
