  1. Thank you all for joining us today! I hope you enjoyed this gentle drive with hardly any stucks or refusals. We kept it easygoing as it was a sizeable convoy and due to the vegetation we were bound to use the farmtracks only. All in all a very enjoyable morning and nice meeting you all ! Fantastic support from @Luke K P and Mia (poor kid had to shovel).... Super Sweeping duties and help from @Tom V and fantastic second lead by @Zulfikhar Naiyar ! @Alexanderrr after driving away from the gas station i realized it was you Hope you had a good drive this morning with the Fewbie Plussers. You'll find the photo gallery of the drive here: UAE's Best Offroad Club - Drive Gallery See you soon in the sands again !

  2. Dear Desrtnauts welcome to this Full Day Endurance drive briefing. Here are a few quick tips to get ready for tomorrow, considering that we'll be out and about all day. WHAT TO BRING Even though we plan to take a break in Sweihan town, where we'll find some restaurants for eating and drinking, please make sure you have enough drinking water for 2 drives, hence twice as much as you normally bring with you. Regarding the food, besides as many snack as you like to bring, we will have 2 options for our lunch: we'll stop at a local restaurant, likely serving Middle Eastern or Indian food. You may also bring your own prepared lunch, if you may have any specific dietary requirements, or prefer to play it safe with your own preparations. PLEASE MAKE SURE THAT ANY EXTRA CONTAINERS, COOLING BOXES, ETC. ARE SAFELY SECURED AND WILL NOT RISK FLYING AROUND THE CAR. FUEL Please fill up your tank as close to the meeting point as possible, in consideration of where you will be coming from. We will find an ADNOC station in Sweihan, where we will be able to top up the tanks of those in need of gasoline. No extra jerry cans will be necessary. As mentioned in the initial post, the drive will focus on endurance, navigational skills, and safe driving in a convoy formation, assuming other passengers may be in the cars: that is a good training session for proper, longer, overland adventures. There will be obstacles to overcome, bowls to dive into and climb out of, so make sure you are well rested, and able to keep your concentration going for the whole day. One of the challenges of the drive is that we'll drive more or less against the prevailing winds, therefore most of the crossings will have to be from the slip face of the dunes, rather than from the easier, gentler and harder hard-faces. CONVOY ORDER @Andrew John Melvill in Second Lead @Abhishek Chikara at #3 @Carl Stanley at #4 @Talal H at #5 @Yurybel at #6 @Benje_Junior at Center Forward @Giacomo at #8 @nithish468 at #9 @Martin M at #10 @Misha Puskar at #11 @Glenn W at #12 and @Hani crest king in Sweep For any further questions, don't hesitate to contact me. Looking forward to seeing you tomorrow.

  3. Thanks again @Gaurav and the rest of the team for a great drive this afternoon. Had lots of fun and practiced our skills - but counting 70 camels is hard to beat! 😂

  7. Not sure how i missed such an interesting topic... I am adding the below not that i can add one cent of value to all the interesting contributions of very experienced off-roaders in the discussion but to give future Carnitists @Carnity another "toy" to consider when they go through this thread as it was not mentioned at the time: The Ford Ranger Raptor This vehicle in my personal opinion blurs all the lines and categories mentioned in the 7 pages of comments. In one weekend It can give the most capable, modified dune bashers and climbers the hardest time and a run for their money while also being a full-on armored and equipped Overlander the next weekend with 0 issues and constraints. It can also be parked at the front space of a hotel for a Gala dinner the following weekend. (Make sure to get a conservative color in this case ) It all depends on how you design and build it. Other than a protective layer for the underbody, there is 0 AED additional cost to unlock new levels of fun in the outdoors, throughout all off-roading activities: - Dune bashing - Overlanding / Scenic drives - Camping/Picnics - Outdoor adventures of all sorts It is a perfectly-sized powerhouse that calmly states "I AM HERE" when the big toys are around while being a more comfortable ride than a Rolls Royce, on-road. (Exageration intended but not too far from reality as well ) After having it for 8 months now, this thing is quite up there as the unicorn that can do it all for all purposes, needs and interests..... it does not look too bad as well (Exterior and Interior) for the "wifey" vote and approvals. One recommendation is to properly design it and not go overboard with what others do with bed racks, chase racks, molle panels and metal bumpers etc to keep it within this aspect of "One Toy to Conquer all Off-roading and On-road Needs".

  10. Hi @Ale Vallecchi, unfortunately there are some more issues that need to be addressed with the car. Apologies but I won’t be able to participate this time. Wish you all the best tomorrow!
