Just wondering how these fuel prices are linked as in last few months it stayed almost same and in fact risen little bit that now crude is just below 50 than in the past below 40 USD....! Is this prices get fixed in future time, that means increase in today or this week high crude price will reflect in next 2 months retail pricing or these are pegged to the real time pricing. Don't take me wrong, Im happy to fill whole November at the cheapest price and best is to get these rates in best weather when we plan lot of outdoor drives and bbq meets.

This must be due to some advance electronic malfunction happening. Visit the dealer and they can plug the diagnostic tool to read the error code recorded in the car computer and then fixing that root cause. It could be simple air filter installation is loose and car passing thru bump must have taken more air making the lean air-fuel mixture and shutting off the car as a safe-mode. Almost all modern cars since 2010 and above deployed with safe-mode and it's a blessing and curse at the same time. It saves the car from bigger damage and expense but leaves such minor bugs floating around causing the safe-mode to trigger on the tiniest issue.

I so wish if we have these testing strips here in Dubai, will be good fun driving and pushing cars in the controlled environment. Yas and autodrome is more race track than driving strip.....!

Coil springs comes in two flavor as well, hard ones for offroad purpose and soft ones for road comfort. Go with soft one and you will not feel any difference and get rid of all balloon, compressor, sensor issues forever. That was the first thing when I got the range for first and last time in my life as advised by very close friend who is Land rover fanatics for 3 generations in his family.

About OEM parts: Those spare part shops get parts from main dealer only and they sell in cheap as they get the volume discount from main dealer and they pass it on same discount to retail customers. Beware: Those shops also sell fake parts so it's always good to ask them that you want original and not fake. They generally sell fake when someone request it specially no:2 or no:3 option, like many mechanics ask for such request.

You should be planning for Oman as it has bigger mountain options and more cooler than UAE mountains. Let's see how much this thread gain traction and based on participation and closer to date I might be able to confirm.

I agree with many others here, Nissan Xtera maikes a very good choice and I like it's devilish front look. Don't take me wrong and If I am in your place I will get my wife LR2, as if her heart is set on it then why get Nissan and spoil her 90% usage for your 10% desert preference. May be you can take LR2 and do sober desert drive than full bashing style and still bridge the gap. I am not emotional and lovey dovey here but I am speaking logic as per the likes and not likes.

As per theory, no oil should get burn't in engine if it is not turbo. In turbo due to high pressure it get's consumed. Oil level should stay same or reduce very very marginal in service internal, if major reduction in oil level then it's a leak in the engine or down the sump area (engine oil area).

Mark I did not forgot above models, as most of them not capabel at all and other are too expensive to enter sand dune in dubai and break them and thtis why peple here dont take those cars offroad.

Sorry everybody Defender and Pajero in Sand dunes is not so good in my opinion, as I see these off road rides on weekly basis. Well misfire is different than rough idling at redlights. Misfire means wrong firing order for ignition in cylinders and that can cause black smoke, loss of power, strange drive feel with different rpm hi's and lo's Rough idling means the adjustment for Ideal control valve is out or engine needs a tune-up, that's it.
