  1. Well if light is one, then that means that SRS system is having some fault somewhere. However its seriousness will be known after getting the proper diagnostic with LR scanner. From safety point yes its serious, but from driving point it is not, and it doesn't affect other part of car. There are many cases that in accident airbag fail to pop but still people survive and vice versa, just make sure you always wear seat belt and avoid rash driving until you get this fixed.

    Thank you!

  2. Dear Forum

I have no clue about engines.. and I didn't even try to look / understand what is happening in there - therefore my question

Mid 2012 a workshop changed Rocker Cover Gaskets for 930 Dhs

Now there is another Oil Leak and workshop want to replace 'Valley Gasket & Plenum Rubbers for 1,400 Dhs.

Are the above things the same?

    Thanks for an answer

  3. Dear Forum

before a few day's a landrover from Abu Dhabi drove into the rear end of my Discovery (model 2004) Police gave me the green paper which is mentioning that it is a very light damage:

The holder of the spare tire is bended down and the plastic step to the trunk is cracked.

In which time frame I have to report this damage to his insurance? (I was planning to leave in a few days and have no time to take care about this matter.)

    Thanks for your answers!

  4. Dear Forum,

After only one year (& 15000KM driving) I needed new brake pads. I got 2 proposals:

The petrol station workshop (the one on backside Sheikh Zayed Rd. - Union Coop - Wellington School) gave me an offer changing all brake pads + polishing of ~ AED 2200.

The Fasttrack Workshop (Emarat Al Ameen Station, Al Wasl Rd.) offered all brake pads for ~ AED 1020 (without polishing as I recognized later only)

I wasn't aware of the 'polishing factor' and chose the cheaper offer. Later I asked the expensive Station for the reason of the high price. They told me about the polishing (extra hours of labour) and they mentioned that it was a big mistake that I didn't do the polishing.

Are they right - was is a mistake to go to Fasttrack and choose the cheaper offer without polishing? Thanks for your opinion!

    Sincerely

    Massimo

  5. Thanks Doc! I am very happy; I brought my car to A2B; they changed the spark plugs, air filter and a plug lead for total 990 AED and everything seems to be fine now. They recommended furthermore to do a big service in 5-8000 kilometers in reply to my question for the price he said ~1000AED - I was remembering that Al Tayer was telling 2500AED on the phone...

    Thank you!

  6. Dear Forum

since a few weeks my discovery (model 2004) doesn't run smoothly and since 2 days its getting really worse.

Fasttrack said that I should visit Al Tayer and let them do a computer check-up.

Furthermore they said that I have probably a problem with spark plugs or ignition coil.

Does this above problem sound familiar to anybody?

PS the problem started after my starter broke and fasttrack guys were helping me by organizing a starter from Sharjah and installed it - I don't think it has something to do with the above problem.

    Thanks for an answer!
