  1. These remind me of excitebike game from the '90s but for trucks
  2. +100000000 Fewbie + Sweihan with Asif bhai lead = "DONT MISS IT"
  3. Will be fun having two drives in a day for people to enjoy 12+ hours of offroad in the best weather. Thanks for this lovely area @Rahimdad
  4. In any case, if you feel stuck is very hard, you can fill sand in any plastic bag and tie it securely with both ends of the rope, which practically does the same thing to absorb shock if any tow point or rope fails. The idea with these snatch strap is to stop the shock and also stop the retraction to not to damage my vehicle, by sticking this snatch strap end to free tow point or bumper so it will stop the broken part hitting my car even.
  5. I always carry two small snatch straps and use them occasionally on tricky or stubborn stucks where chances are high for breaking any tow points or ropes. I also carry the big cloth bag, that I fill with sand and hook up with these straps to absorb the shock. These days use of soft shackles has reduce the risk of damage to greater extent unless the tow points are weak.
  6. @WiLfY also has 3.8 and LWB and doing very well in sand, so its all good don't worry. Wilfy and Sri maybe able to help you to advise on bumper trimming/reinforcement ideas.
  7. Beautiful color. Is it 2 or 4 doors?
  8. Congrats for the new ride, its time to share the pictures now
  9. I completely agree with Sri on this that rent a car is good for a short stay or when you are not sure how long you will be in the country. I have 2 friends who are using rent a car for 24 months, just because they are consultants and there need might be over anytime and they have to pack up within a week or two notice. Buying a used Japanese is highly advisable and reliable as a daily driver and also such dinkies don't lose on resale value so you can literally swap them every 2 years with an upgraded version for more peace of mind.
  10. REALLY.......? Divya / Dhanya selling first copy and not original spare parts......? How do you know that and how we can find out the difference from original vs 1st copy? I have been heavily relying on Divya / Dhanya parts since long, and never knew they also sell fake parts, please explain Two years back, I have bitten from Al Qaswa Auto Spare Parts selling fake parts and reported
  11. Well done @Javier M in sharing this with everyone. Thanks for the post, process and time it takes to report.
  12. Good observation from the forum latest post, lol. I will say if 2016, then go with the full service history at least. Even if you have to pay a little extra that shows the concern of an owner towards a car. 90 out of 100 times those cars with FSH driven with utmost care and especially by HUMANS and not hooligans. Also worth to get an RTA comprehensive test if you are 100% sure of buying to let it reflect any issues or accidents. Check the service interval are regular as per time and kms - most important. Check any recall and whether it has been done at an agency or not. https://carnity.com/recall/mitsubishi Don't fall for lady driven trap, as its useless and sometimes more riskier due to bumpers touch-ups.
  13. Cold air intake has almost 10 - 15 hp gain if done effectively, it's been proven on dyno's
  14. Having said that, it makes a perfect sense to move air intake higher to avoid low flying sand, however, in almost every car it's been placed in the front fender and concealed with loose plastic and most of the time it faces backward to avoid such low flying sand. Last year I and Rahimdad spotted a wrangler with air intake from Injen and it was kind of snorkel but not with long tube protruding higher than the car, instead it has small rectangular box stuck on side of the hood (neatly), facing backward means its sucking air from halfway up and also not getting impacted with long tube travel.
  15. Hi @SandySandeep and others please post your pictures in the gallery section Every drive has its own album in the gallery for that drive pictures for better organizing. https://carnity.com/gallery/category/110-newbie-drive-malihakalba-8-feb-2019
  16. An extremely interesting and highly debatable topic you picked. Just last Friday while I was riding with an IMC recovery guy, who is an ofroader too, he bought a snorkel for his Pajero and asking me the same question - how it helps and why so many people have them here in UAE? Although I'm yet to see Amazons jungle and water wading opportunities here in UAE except a couple of weeks in some remote wadi's during the rainy season. In such water wading that has more than 2 feet deep water, such snorkels are helpful so that air intake which is usually placed under the front fender doesn't suck water and stall the engine. Apart from water wading snorkels practically has no use and instead bring a little toll for sand offroading and cause a restriction and a delay while sucking air through a long tube. Imagine you are breathing with a straw while running. However, this can be managed to some extent, by reprogramming the ECU to adjust the intake long travel. I agree they look cool and some people I know personally they have fake snorkel attached, just for looks without any alteration of intake and air filter modification. Just like the two antenna mod started with Shkmo on his G500 decade ago, now followed by every G and non-G cars and accessories shops even sells a fake stick on antenna these days.
