I have changed in my stock coil and HT leads and felt the noticeable difference in improvement on power, acceleration and hill climb. Off course if you have MSD or special chip to use, you can get better results, but I heard MSD and Pajero are not mating well with each other in long-term. That's where I spent 1800 for three new coils from habtoor a few years back and still very happy.

Divya and Dhanya are MUCH BETTER AND TRUSTED shops. Changing to Iridium will be the best thing you will ever do to your Pajero. Close your eyes and go ahead, it is 4 times expensive but last 10 times more and save fuel (in theory) and result in awesome acceleration and power (in reality).

When you are buying let me know, ill come and borrow your toolbox for a while.

Thanks @Sidshk for the follow-up. I have lodged a complaint with Sharjah Consumer protection department and will wait for 7 days to hear from them. I will update the outcome here. And after that, I will take second (Habtoor) and third (Mitsubishi) step accordingly.

Of course, I do understand that point, but this clutch hasn't engaged once in almost 2-3 hours of overheating/warmed up temperature gauge. I have to switch off the AC and turn the heater full on to let the engine cool down at 3K revs every now and then.

Thanks barry for clarification, but my point is when gauge goes above the normal ideal temperature, clutch SHOULD engage fully and bring the temperature down. Am I correct?

Slight correction in your basic oxford English dictionary buddy: engine warms up = OVERHEAT certain level = IDEAL TEMPERATURE I am driving in the desert for over 10 years and almost all the cars when pushed for dune bashing (not desert safari - train track), do get slight overheat and this fan clutch produces a hell of a noise that felt inside the car cabin. I have heard this on my Land Cruiser, Patrol, Discovery, Range Rover, Cayenne, Pajero 3.0 and even on this same Pajero 3.5 for last 7 years. The radiator has been detailed clean 4-5 months back, as soon as summer started and I have driven the same Pajero for all the summer drives. It raises the temperature and again brings it down in 3-5 minutes provided clutch fan is working as it is intended. This saves power, since the engine does not have to fully drive the fan. However, if engine temperature rises above the clutch's engagement temperature setting, the fan becomes fully engaged, thus drawing a higher volume of ambient air through the vehicle's radiator, which in turn serves to maintain or lower the engine coolant temperature to an acceptable level. Check the below video of comparing the new clutch failing when the car was overheating vs below video of old clutch modified as the direct clutch now to run all-time at engine RPM. If the new clutch was working or really genuine, then it should have been running at below fan speed and not so slow to bring the temperature down. Play the video at high volume to hear both channel audio (slow and high-speed gushing).

Desertdude, thanks for your ideas to check the fan clutch but they are just identifying ONLY first function when it's not working. I have checked the resistance of the new fan clutch and it was holding little pressure as it supposed to be. However, problem is that when the car overheated and it failed to engage fully to spin at faster RPM. Hence it failed in the second most important function of engine fan clutch. There was no naming and shaming yet, and I just shared my real experience with all documented details and evidence to seek advice from other car owners in UAE. I guess that's the main purpose of Carnity to help each other with their car knowledge and experiences. Moreover, up until yesterday as per Saleem's CONSECUTIVE advice I didn't stand any chance and now in less than 14 hours, I have got multiple ways to report and seek fair justice to my consumer rights after paying 900 AED and getting treated like a monkey from a salesman who was teaching Saleem and myself on how to identify the problem. Simply to brush away the non-working part complaint with 100 other ideas to divert attention. All thanks to Carnity members and friends who understand the real meaning of car community in the UAE.

I agree, Barry and I am under the same impression that genuine spare parts should have at least 6 months - 12 months of warranty and dealer/agent supposed to replace if it's faulty or non-working or not performing as the way it should be. Not agreeing to any of the above options, forces me to believe that it was fake in the first place. I will definitely report to Habtoor and Mitsubishi. Do you have any ways to report or the right email address where I can send this case full details? Like I said many times in person to you before, that it isn't the case of 50 AED spark plug and it's a case of the "critical" and high-value component that should not have any chance of failure. What if I wouldn't be paying attention to overheating and blow up my engine, then no agent will take responsibility for this critical part being incompetent to do its job.

Since a couple of weeks, my Pajero was slightly overheating in the desert after few hours. Shown to two different competent mechanics and both advised to replace the Engine fan clutch, as it had mild spotting of oil leak means clutch was not getting fully engage to cool down the engine. How does an engine fan clutch work? It usually spins at half of engine RPM to give an optimum cooling, but when the car overheats silicone oil inside clutch get warm and engage the clutch fully so that engine fan spins at same RPM as an engine to immediately cool down the engine. During this process, it produces enough of loud gushing noise at idle and while driving until it brings the engine to its ideal temperature. Just FYI, this fan clutch is a completely mechanical piece of metal that has bolt-on application with 4 bolts behind the clutch. So even a layman with a single spanner can change it, let alone the competent mechanic needs. Last week I gave the car to Saleem for a couple of maintenance jobs including this engine fan clutch replacement. He replaced the clutch on 28 Sep, Thursday and I tested the car on 29 Sep, Fri and again after an hour or so engine temp shot up to 75% and engine clutch fan was still running at idle speed instead of full RPM. No loud noise or gushing air flow felt from the engine hood. (Check the video). Called Saleem to verify if he has bought all original and genuine Mitsubishi spare part and he confirmed that he bought this engine fan clutch from Al Qaswa Auto Spare Parts in Sharjah, that claim to sold him the genuine Mitsubishi spare part. We removed that fake or non-working engine clutch fan and went to the shop for replacement/refund and we have been told that nothing is possible due to their company policy. This was the exact words from Mr. Boban M S who is Manager, Operations of Al Qaswa Auto Spare Parts TR LLC. On the receipt, there is no mention of any refund/return policy, neither it has any terms and conditions, nor there was any company policy printed. It's truly sad and disappointing how they are selling Mitsubishi fake parts and robbing customers. Appreciate if someone can advise how can I complain about them to Sharjah authorities, Habtoor Motors and Mitsubishi about this case and seek the refund on this fake Mitsubishi part supplied. Just got the reply from shop operations manager that refund is against company policy and I can complain anywhere I wish to do. I will post the whole details later.

Bought the engine fan clutch for 900 aed, installed on Thursday and tested on Friday drive and car was slight overheating but fan was running at usual speed and not gushing at full rpm speed as it should be. Recorded the video and will post here with shop name if they refuse to refund. Going there tonite, will update in some time.

Just wondering, what are the ways we can complain about fake parts selling shops in Sharjah? Recently bitten by the expensive and so-called original, but fake spare part bought from some shop in Sharjah. Also, I like to know what are these shops refund/replacement policy in case if the spare part doesn't work as intended? Any advice is highly appreciated.

Perfect for me and my son, who can't tolerate much of heat and always prefer chilling ice cold AC.
