  1. You are more than welcome basti for this drive, I'm sure with more than 14k members here at Carnity you will find some kabayans too. Please share you mobile number, so that I can update the list of participants for this drive.
  2. @Barry this is not allowed to post my beloved beauty's pic when in ICU. I think @DiamondDallas also believe the same, Diamond let's get together and sue @Barry lol.
  3. WOAH.....now I know what you mean yesterday @Barry. This indeed rightly named: Tractor Terror. Now this justify the need of two tractor you own for fun. Btw, how do these pencil tires in front take so much.....?
  4. Thanks all, for the great suggestions and looking into the minor technical details after all it's a BRAKE. Yes I have tried it at 120 and 140 and hitting hard brake and it reacted almost instantly like before. Thanks @Barry and Location Garage for all the good work of swapping the brake booster with make shift arrangement for 200 dhs labor cost. We need more garages in Dubai like this one........Knowledgeable, Capable and Flexible with reasonable pricing.
  5. Based on our recent recce drive to Wadi Naqab in Ras Al Khaimah, we found out it's a wonderful place to have awesome scenic wadi drive. Let's start the season with this great spot which is easy and fun place to drive for all. Date: 16 Sep 2016, Friday Meeting time: 3 PM Meeting Point: ADNOC near RAK Airport (https://goo.gl/maps/iMp38NcXHL42) Place: Wadi Naqab (https://goo.gl/maps/dGT5JdfVCYU2) Drive end: 6-7 PM Drive level: Easy to intermediate (majorly loose gravel track) Car required: Any 4x4 or SUV
  6. That's terribly sad news for Tesla, company that is trying too hard for picking up getting bashed with one after the other bad news in media.
  7. Recently my Pajero brake almost died (becoming too hard) and after the diagnose we found out that brake booster is faulty. Tried to source out new one and no one has that, Habtoor can specially order from Japan and will take 1-2 months for delivery. Sourced one from scrap based on picture and it came out slightly smaller than the original one. We fixed it as an experiment to see if it works and after little make shift adjustment @Barry fixed it and it's working great as per my quick short test drive. My concern is, if it's ok to fits slightly smaller barke booster (1 inch smaller) if it's working fine or should we scout in scrap for perfect fit? Thanks guys.
  8. Thanks Diamond, it was pleasure meeting you as well. My Pajero brake job didn't went very well on Thursday and I still have 50% spongy and ineffective brake. Just dropped the car today at Location Garage and hope they can fix that and few other tit bits as car was sitting for 4-5 months.
  9. Thanks Irfan for the heads up on this hidden gem, we were 3 cars in total. Hope to see you on 16 Sep drive.
  10. Been to Wadi Naqab yesterday and it is definitely worth visiting with whole group. Though we reached very late and just had a high speed drive inside wadi to have a quick feel, but we enjoyed it thoroughly. We lost lot of time as dumb explorer UAE off-road guide showing the QR code inside the round about in RAK city and then google maps showed the wadi naqab coordinate exactly on opposite side, damn. Anyways it was lovely spot and Will be posting a drive shortly for 16 Sep 2016.

  13. We are going for recce drive this Friday to scout the area and plan for proper drive in sep. I am fine with 2 PM start, where do you wanna meet in Dubai or in RAK? I am fine either ways.
  14. Just bought a copy of off-road UAE and Oman. Wadi Naqab definitely sounds interesting.
  15. I am planning to restart the offroad activities now and wondering what is the best gps navigation for offroad you guys are using? I'm from Garmin era, that we used to stick on dash and record the route, way point and breadcrumb for the trail. Appreciate if anyone has any suggestion based on smartphone app (IOS / Android) so that's easier to use and share, only challenge will be the 3G/4G availability in remote areas, so may be an offline app.....? MUST READ: Best offroad GPS Navigation App for iPhone
  16. I agree with amen, not worth the hassle and pain. Barry sometime cops do fine random cars if they spot such flickering and colourful lights.
  17. Well it's more of an intermediate exploration drive, I suggest only 2-3 cars goes first for recce and then we can take the whole lot may be next week or sometime. So I and Irfan are already in, we need 1-2 more car / guys to join. I'm driving alone so anyone can join me in my car if they like.
  18. I agree it's a good timing and I'll be joining too. Do you have the route coordinates or it's an exploration drive....? Once we finalize the drive will share this with all members. Meeting point: Meeting time: Route coordinates (if available): Drive Level: Beginner / Intermediate / Expert: Exit time (tentative):
  19. Hi Irfan, what time you planning to start and come back?
  20. I agree barry that I also read same news or rather big wave of news few years back in social media etc. Just wondering how these bottled water trucks transport the packed bottle then....? Thanks amid for raising this concern.

    Dubai Police Fines

Very good point raised, that due to extra slow vehicle in fast lane people drive very fast in slow lanes and then in such emergency situation some unfortunate people pays the heavy toll. Too bad. People here really need to understand to how to use fast and slow lanes appropriately as per their desired speed and not just by any other rational / frustrations.
  22. Well I only got once minor service with Habtoor when my Pajero has some strange missing problem that used to fluctuate the idle. Habtoor costed me 660 after discount and still problem remain same saying car is too old and engine is gone bad and they need 3000 dhs to diagnose. Bit of googling and some educated member here, pointed to replace ICV (Idle control Valve) that was 300-400 dhs and instantly the idle fluctuation gone. My rough estimate for major service habtoor might ask for 2500 - 3000 dhs, outside with any good competent garage you can get it for 1000 - 1500 dhs range. Major service actually varies big time on number of things required replacement. Check with @Barry if they do major service for older Pajero, you have my strong recommendation for awesome knowledge at very competitive pricing.
  23. That's a very good price, I am sure it's a scrap AC compressor pricing. Isn't? More important I'm curious to know who have done the scouting for the compressor as that is more time consuming than repairing time?
  24. I agree with LAZER in Karama is also good, Mr. Prakash is an awesome gentlemen who knows the value of customer service.
