If fan clutch is not engaging when 70% heat gauge rises, that means fan clutch is surely not working. Technically there is no way to 100% test fan clutch getting fully engaged at high temperature, other than this absence of loud gushing noise. So it's time to either change the fan clutch (expensive route), or make it direct (cheaper route) as 9 months out of 12 months are hot in Dubai. Also its your off-road vehicle that will have better engine cooling with loss of 2-5 hp and few ml of extra petrol. Example: full tank mileage of 325 km might become 320 km, if you are keeping a precise log. I'm running direct clutch fan since 5 years and my exhaust makes more noise on road and highway than direct clutch fan. If I have an option to double my clutch fan speed by spending extra money, ill do that too.

Buy 12 valves for 5 dhs. Initially you will loose, but after 3 or 4 failed attempt, you will stop loosing it. I hardly loose any now, like once in a year or so but love the 20-30 sec max air down.

You are doing very good so far and don't distort your mind with another car or any expensive modification, yet. Drive for at least 5 newbies drive and if we feel you have learned enough on how to handle your duster (from safety aspect), we might promote you to fewbie level too. Once you are at fewbie level, then you can decide to continue with duster or replace/upgrade, if you really push to aim for higher levels of offroad drives.

I will vote for the one who is giving 5 years warranty in writting on the receipt and not in talks, box, stickers or instagram. TJM and Bushranger both are good off-road brand. Not sure about Ironman, looks bit shady with epoxy stickers.

Almost all car dealers are doing this game to cut corners, unless you drive Porsche Or Range and ready to part 2200 AED for minor service with Mobil 1 or Castrol Magnatec - finest engine oils. Call Ajman Habtoor and ask which engine oil they use, before jumping the gun tbh. I had mine in Dubai and within 1500 kms my lifters started making loud noise - sign of lack of lubrication. Changed to Mobil and lifters and rocker become quiet again.

@Shiju Manuel Mitsubishi dont make engine oil, but in UAE Habtoor motors put Mitsubishi label on LUKOIL. I tried and its the most shittiest oil for off-roading for my Pajero. Maybe newer gen4 , dont mind that sub standard quality. My highest recommendation to any offroader is to use Mobil 1 once and see the difference in engine noise, engine cooling and off-road performance. @Mels Wolf putting water in air filter dry box is not very ideal (I think). Instead that box has 2 or 3 bolts, remove it and give gentle dab upside down. @Lisa Pemberton great post and so far great input from other experts and owners alike. Google code and check on spal or amazon site it clearly says puller / pusher / with CFM Adding fan is the best, but its down and due to its weird location its not very easy to add fan. You can increase the air ventilation by moving that cooler little up, right behind the front grill. @Shiju Manuel here is my fan current setup Additional 10 Inch Spal Fan - Pusher - 844 CFM (va11ap7/c-57s) Next to AC Condenser fan 9 Inch Engine Oil Cooler Failed experiment, to replace the Pajero stock AC Condensor (12 Inch) fan is a paddle blade that throws more air than 12 Inch Spal, pusher - 938 CFM (va10-ap10/c-61s). So revert to stock, after this failed experiment. I tried all these numbers with @Frederic Anemometer and settle with stock AC condenser fan + one 10 Inch fan.

Check the existing space first in your model of Pajero on left side of AC condenser fan. Then check available Spal fan models for 10 or 12 inch with maximum cfm. Once you get the fan, buy the harness, relay and switch too, so that any good electrician in Ajman can fix that fan for you. While fixing that fan, insist on metal bracket as some lazy mechanic tie these with cable ties even. If you get all these by yourself, its better than going to big branded workshop who "TALKS" too much and then fit 100 dhs useless fan for the cost of 500 dhs. This happen with me in my old off-road friend workshop, where they quoted me for HIGH PERFORMANCE, Special Motor fan and eventually fix 600 cfm, 9 inch fan (120 aed), that made no difference in anything.

This fan is a puller fan, but with just 12 inch of size as oppose to 16 inch radiator clutch fan (existing). If you kill your radiator fan and install this, your Pajero will overheat even more. This 12 inch shows 909 cfm, and your 16 inch is delivering from 600 - 3,000 cfm when fully engage at 3k RPM. You cannot use this fan as a condenser fan too as its a puller and not pusher fan. So if you plan to """""REPLACE"""""" radiator clutch fan with electric fan buy HIGH PERFORMANCE 16 Inch fan, with at least 2,000 and above CFM. Even better with speed controller, to have variable speed as per coolant temperature. If you plan to add additional AC condenser fan to have better AC cooling in stand still traffic + marginal engine cooling while offroading then you need to exchange this fan from puller to pusher. Add next to existing AC condenser fan as in Pajero there is a space for additional 10 - 12 inch size (please check the space, before ordering. HOWEVER, by adding this fan your engine oil cooler (in front of AC condenser) and A/T oil cooler (below AC condenser) still have no change in temperature.
