@Wrangeld i think it was a drive we learnt about leadership and importance of managing risks in an adventure .. we tried still since couldn't find the clear way was really good of you to discuss openly with convoy the plan and options... this is the element of community we are all here in @Carnity for...as always thanks for drive. Another aspect - it's very clear you just can't stay away from me ..in last 5 drives together i have been your second lead, you tried today to move me to Centre and poor chap Charlie had to exit...😂😂😂

@Gaurav isn't this one of the lakes we visited in one of the drives (Finding Water around Qudra with you and @Ale Vallecchi)?

Thanks @Frederici had this issue for a while with my Baofeng radio - my first drive with you last month, couple of seconds with radio in maestro's hand and as @Srikumar said Abracadabra it's fixed...SQL setting did the trick.

Agree Gaurav. Actually more than standby was just thinking of having some contact details of nearby workshops...to reach out to in case of emergency. .i am sure mechanics would be happy to share their contacts, a bit of scouting in nearby area by someone with idea to judge the right mechanic...i am happy to help ñ, my knowledge is pretty limited though.

Hmm .. any possibility @Gaurav to identify some workshops around the area (spread isn't that big where we drive - couple around SWEIHAN, Qudra and Madam, of course we have other areas but then the more frequently visited ones) who can be first level of help for all in such cases ... Especially as even if someone has a mechanic, over Friday might not be easy to get hold ...and even if possible to get it from another part of city can be a crazy experience ..i read @Shaz Shah had to get a mechanic from Ajman, not sure why perhaps that's the mechanic he could only reach by late eve? ( @Shaz Shah can share better). ..at least with Marshals having some contact in these case might come in handy....and i am sure knowing that there are regular drives the mechanic might be okay to be available ...for individuals might be a struggle.... Needless to say what @Srikumar @Lorenzo Candelpergher @Gaurav you all have mentioned, first and foremost members must ensure that vehicle is in healthy shape and that all precautions be taken...

Hi @sertac agree with you. .however as i mentioned some of us with under warranty vehicles generally rely on agency - which i am sure will be crazy expensive in such case. At @Carnity the good part is we don't recommend mechanic and vendors. However this is something i believe where around the common drive areas to identify some mechanic and recovery company might be helpful for all. I would call Trading Enterprise in Dubai and Sharjah, but i have no option in Abu Dhabi or NE Thanks @Lorenzo Candelpergher i will surely check the option ...i couldn't agree more with you this additional cost is nothing compared to peace of mind it can provide....

Hi @Lorenzo Candelpergher understand there is some issue with distance from road as well in these insurance. .. or do you have insurance which provide complete coverage...? Believe @Srikumar as well raised same point ..have AXA and i believe it mentions 50mtr.or something. Need to check.

Thanks @Srikumar yup prevention should surely be the first focus .. And couldn't agree more we should always rely on professional recover. Considering we usually are out early Friday mornings and that insurance/agency coverage might not be through all areas ...would be good if we have a DB of recovery companies for Dubai, Sharjah and Abu Dhabi. So that in worst case all have options..i have no experience (and hope it continues like that) so not sure how it works with these recovery companies brining in vehicle from AD.to Dubai for eg..

Hi @Carnity team over last few drives, we have had some cases where we had to leave a vehicle in desert to be recovered later as things couldn't have been fixed without an expert mechanic etc. @Amir Amiri broke his ride's diff and recently understand @Shaz Shah had some issue as well. Would be good to know whats the safe and right way of executing these recoveries. In case of Jeep trading enterprise offer recovery anywhere within Dubai and Sharjah, however, understand that Abu Dhabi is not covered and with things becoming easier, many of us are going for AD trip. I am not sure if insurance (i have AXA comprehensive) covers such recoveries and surely not all of us have identified mechanics to help us out in such cases. Marshalls surely help a lot, i know @Islam Soliman helped @Amir Amirirecover. However would be good to know if there are some predefined things we can do to be prepared for such instances. Look forward.for advice from team @Carnity as well as those who experienced such incidents. I am sure not all of us are comfortable heading to middle of desert without any support or leaving the vehicle over night in middle of desert. Thanks @Gaurav @Frederic @Srikumar

Oh dear....was waiting for it since long .. @Lorenzo Candelpergher ny possibility i can be get a floating attendance pass to this drive..? Have an event this Thursday, not sure if it will end in time for me to get some rest and be there for drive .. so not in position to confirm but really interested to join...so if an exceptional open pass possible? Will surely inform before i hit bed on Thursday night...🙏
