First Time Car Buyer
garythomas replied to lovesh's topic in Mercedes General Discussion Forum in UAE
Buying a new car is not an easy job. Accroding to me, make a proper listing of what particular brand you want go for? And then your budget and then browse around a little if there is any offers going on! -
Overcharging or not!
garythomas replied to victor's topic in Mercedes General Discussion Forum in UAE
Before giving your car for any repair or replacement to a particular garage, always browse around other garage and workshops for prices and go for the one which is genuine and certified. -
There are four types of Torque Wrenches: Beam Style, click adjustable, Dial Gauge, Digital Eletronic

Best is the voltage check to check if there is any issue in the charging system. You can perform a voltage test which is very quick and you can know in seconds if there is any issue.
-
No. There is no coolant which lasts forever. with time being, the coolant becomes dirty because of some unwanted additives from the engine which gradually affects the quality of the coolant in long run.

I want to buy an aftermarket audio system for my Jazz. Please suggest me how to shop the same.
-
You're right. I know many people facing the same issue. It's better you wrote an official complain letter to the executive of the dealer. I am sure they will take care of it as you are not the only person with the same issue.

Auto parts that needs regular replacement
garythomas replied to brandan's topic in Kia General Discussion Forum in UAE
Oil and oil filter is one thing that needs to be replaced after every 6 months. If you don't really replace it, your engine has more chances to go bad. -
Hey people. I have a question. Is it legal to put a tattoo on your car in UAE? I am not really sure actually i wanna put a new tattoo on my car but somebody told me it's not approved by the RTA. Is out correct?
-
Also, your car need to be passed from RTA. If not, forget the insurance.

May be you are driving off road sometimes or you may be driving on a wet surface that attracts the dust particles on the disc brake. Just try to maintain the servicing of your car and don't drive on muddy roads.

Grinding noise while changing the gear

Or may be the level of transmission fluid is really low in your car. Get that checked as well. -
The horn of my 2008 CLK is sounding only once when i am pressing it more than once. Why is this happening. Is it possible to fix it on own?
-
Can anyone tell me what basic engine tune-up is? I mean how to perform that?
-
I suppose including labor charge and everything, it may cost you around 2,500 to 3,000 AED. Anyways, the Ac compressor will cost you little more or beetle compared to other cars. Since your car is 8 years old, i would suggest you to ge it repalced from outside local workshop. Your dealer will charge you hell lot of money as your warranty must have been expired.

when to replace the tires
garythomas replied to boss's topic in Mercedes General Discussion Forum in UAE
Hey! What is traction? -
Which year manufactures is your Altima? I mean, if its an old car (may be 2005 or more), then its not a good idea to do so. Rather I would prefer you to change your car to a better car and then install the dashcam.
-
well, yes you have to pay for the test if your car is notunder warranty. If your car is under warranty, then your dealer can diagnose it without any labor charge. But if there is any replacement required, it will not be covered in your warranty. I would suggest you that is your car warranty is expired, you better go to the local workshop as it will be way cheaper for you than getting it diagnosed from your dealer.

Excessiove oil consumption: is it?
garythomas replied to nackjack's topic in Audi A8 / S8 Forum in UAE
Well buying any luxury brand itself is designed n a manner where the oil consumption is much higher than other normal cars. A8 specifically doesnt come up with any issue with the consumption but yes! since you are planning to go for a luxury brand Audi, you will offcourse have big impact on your poclet. -
You can go to any professional or an auto expert, they all understand the OBD codes. Generally reading OBD codes is free, but if you want them to diagnose the trouble there are separate charges for that.
-
Its ok. Not everyone knows everything about a car. OBD is on board diagnostics. basically this is the car language in which they pop up the trouble codes. Not everyone i can understand OBD codes, but once you understand the code it is easy to diagnose the issue in your car.
-
It can also be because of the seal failure in the compressor. The compressor should turn when you are trying to switch on the AC. if not turning, then the compressor is failed. You need to get it replaced.
-
The reason why you face such a problem is because of driving on the rough road. Safe and clean driving is always essential for the long life of the tire. So, try to drive your car only on roads and not on under construction or rough roads, because that will spoil your tires.
-
That's not a good sign. The battery of your car is very low and need to be recharged.
