  1. To reset the engine light in a Merc C240:

    - Remove the nut from the negative battery terminal and take the cable off from the terminal. It should not be touching the terminal so if you can't manage, just place a plastic or paper between the terminal and the cable.

    - You need to empty the energy stored in the electrical system so after taking the cable off, press the horn which will help the same cause.

    - Wait for approx. 10-15 minutes before connecting the negative battery terminal again.

your engine light should be reset.

  2. when I had this kind of a problem I had to look at all of the options and then narrow it down to what i thought was the problem .. eventually the mechanic confirmed that the evaporator sensor needs replacing and so my problem was solved. Hated spending the money out of the blue though.

  3. Hi hemant - first of all I am really sorry about the malfunctions in your car. They are generally fixable problems so you might need to be a little patient about them but im sure you'll get around having them fixed nonetheless.

I remember reading about a similar problem online and what I can ask you to do is to check the harness which is located under the middle console. It is no doubt a loose wire somewhere and that was where I found mine. Good luck

  4. Greetings folks!! I really hope the experts/car enthusiasts on this forum can help me out. I have a problem with my 2004 S350 Mercedes Benz. After starting the engine when I try to shift the gear from P to R or other gears, I have to use extra force to move

the gear stick. It is called the selector lever in the manual. I do not think the problem is due to low transmission oil as there is no

indication of any malfunction on the dashboard. This is the most expensive car I have ever bought and I absolutely love it. I hope this is not a major issue. Please advise.
