  3. Thank you @Mus_hus78 @ShereenMK @AlexM @KAMALIO @Prakash Anoop @Karthik Raptor @Thomas Varghese and our dear resident doctor @M.Seidamfor joining yesterday's Sweihan Night Adventures. It was an action packed drive that was perfectly executed by the entire team. It was very unfortunate that @ShereenMK had to exit out as soon as we entered with the side airbags getting deployed causing no tension on the seat belts. Look on the bright side, you don't have to worry about side airbag deployment in the future (that's is ofcourse if you don't get it replaced) 😂 With some amazing drivers in the convoy, it let me be a bit adventurous at some places, but every time I looked back the entire convoy was still following. Well done guys, you certainly are rockstars. There quarters into the drive, Thomas informed that he was not feeling well. With a doctor being in the convoy @M.Seidam took fantastic care to make Thomas feel better. However, as it was not advisable for Thomas to drive out in the dark, Seidam drive Thomas's car out. Once we reached the tarmac we bid farewell to @Mus_hus78 and Thomas who departed, while the rest of us went back in for a quick spin to get Seidam's car. @Thomas it was a wise move to take a nap and drive back home fresh. Glad that you made it home safely. @M.Seidam thank you for the fantastic support at the back end of the convoy as well as in taking excellent care of Thomas when he needed it. Always a pleasure driving with you. Thank you once again to all the drivers and I hope the Sweihan Night Adventures was worth the drive from Dubai. Till we meet again, take care.
  4. Take care @Xavier Treasurer. Hope its nothing too serious. @Karthik Raptor @Prakash Anoop @Mus_hus78 @AlexM @ShereenMK @KAMALIO @M.Seidamhope you guys are geared up for what looks like an exciting evening. Convoy Numbering 1. 5. @Karthik Raptor @Prakash Anoop @Mus_hus78 @AlexM @Xavier Treasurer @ShereenMK and WL @Joseph Raju I have updated the meeting point. For those who have been a part of the earlier night drives at Sweihan you guys already know what to expect, and for those who would be driving in this terrain for the first time be ready for a fast paced roller coaster ride. Can't wait for Saturday night. See you boys in Sweihan.
  6. I have not seen your setup and dont know whether you already have some offroad lights. Offroad lights are helpful but not mandatory for a night drive as you are not leading. However, if this drive helps you get the permission from the Home Ministry to splurge some money on your car, then go ahead by all means. 😜

  14. If the rims are an issue, try going with slightly narrow rims. The tyre sits a lot more tightly resulting in lesser chances of a popout

  17. Trip Report It was so satisfying to be back in Sweihan. The vastness of sand, the majestic dunes, zero cross tracks and just about 75 mins drive from Dubai makes Sweihan my favorite playground. Towards the end of last year, this beautiful place was ravaged by bulldozers making it virtually impossible to drive anymore. But the desert is the prime example, that time is the biggest healer. The winds of change covered all the bruises and we were back to having fun just like old times. @Zulfikhar Naiyar was my second lead and did a very good job of following my tracks and rerouting when needed. Nicely done buddy. @Anthony Tan you have certainly grown in lot of confidence from the last time I saw you in Tilal Sweihan. Overall well managed. @Ivan Pironi your F150 must have felt at home in this terrain where you could rev it up as much as your heart desired. One piece of advise - there were places where you were keeping a bit too much gap from the car in front. We can learn a lot from seeing how the car in front is tackling the terrain and accordingly adjust ourselves on the fly, so try driving a bit more closer. But overall well done. @Paolo Pellegrini seeing you after the AN which has been a while back. There were only a couple of places where you did struggle just a bit, but I think that had more to do with your tire pressure. As we get into the summers, the tyre pressures will keep increasing during the drive so we will have to keep a constant look out for it. Other than, you drove very well. @Andrew McCarthy was flying with his Pajero and handled the entire route with aplomb. Driving at the back end of the convoy is never easy with all the churned tracks, but it can add to the challenge, so my hat goes off to @Amr Aydin @Haitham Khattab @Deepak 11 for managing things so well. @Awais Zuberi appreciate you handling the sweep position yesterday. Driving in sweep, can be difficult at times, especially if you have some heavy cars that have gone through but that's where your skills start improving a lot. Also, play a bit with the tyre pressures as you are driving on AT and you will find a whole new level. Finally, a big thanks to @Looper for supporting this drive and helping out the entire convoy and also non Carnity members when in need. Till we meet next time again on the sand, see you and take care.

  22. Bilstein are some of the best monotube shocks and are nicely priced as well. They are a bit hard for the road but perform well off-road. I installed them on my XJ and they have lasted for all the abuse that I have put on them with no issues. You need to first decide your budget and then you would be able to narrow down on which shocks suits your budget.
