What a day, what a wonderful day!! These are the kind of days that's makes you realize why we all love this sport so much. Pushing the cars and drivers to the limit, and enjoying the success of each convoy member as they scale higher up the dunes. And for me there was no better way to enjoy this day than to have the company of @Frederic and @Gaurav. The fact that we have been together on an IM drive after 2.5 years, just made it even more special. Thank you guys for signing up. @GauravSoni you are a real brave heart. When I made the call to him on Thursday to share the lead at Qua, he simply said 'Oh Yes'. You lost your phone just at the start of the drive, something can put many Leads mind off, but you stuck to it and pulled off an amazing Lead. Well done. About our convoy members @Amr Aydin @ASAD. @Waqas Parvez @Vaibhav and @JeromeFJ you were the true superstars, cause you were able to maintain the very fine line of driving at the limit without going over it. And the reason why we had a successful adrenaline pumping drive. As the drive post said, the drive ended only when we started running out of fuel. As we took the sabkha for the final stretch to reach Y60 hill, the fatigue of the entire day finally kicked in. But we had one final challenge, to get to the top of Y60 hill. Since it's impossible to do it with our stock cars, a few of us made the balance climb to the top on foot. The achievement of standing on the tallest dune for miles was truly special. FInally, I can't end this with out showing my huge appreciation and gratitude to my mentor and brother @Gaurav for teaching me everything I know in this beautiful sport. From route planning to execution and to be my SL was a true privilege. P.S. That's why I let you take the Pajero Bowl 2 first. You have to believe me when I say this, that it was out of pure respect. 🤣

@GauravSoni @JeromeFJ @Looper @Vaibhav @Waqas Parvez @Zixuan Huang - Charlie @Amr Aydin @Simon Dawood @Gok Krish @Imran Kashif @ASAD. @Mario Cornejo @Chris Wing @Rizwanm2 @Frederic @Gaurav Good morning boys, we are less than 24 hours away from what is expected to be an exciting day. Please go through the all the points mentioned on the Original Post. Few important points to recap: Please ensure that you come with a full tank. If you have a spare radio, bring it. A car charger for the radio will also help Conserve fuel when not needed Drive within your own and vehicle limits. Keep your Egos at the deflation point and dont push yourself to the limit As we are a big group, we would be running 2 convoys. @GauravSoni has volunteered to lead the other convoy. Thank you as even Wl members have got a chance to taste the terrain. So the split in convoy is as follows (this is not the convoy numbering): 1st Group GauravSoni Chris Wing Mario Cornejo Looper Imran Kashif Zixuan Huang - Charlie Simon Dawood Gok Krish Rizwan 2nd Group Srikumar Amr Aydin Waqas Gaurav Jerome Vaibhav Frederic Asad Convoy numberings and radio frequency would be announced by the respective trip leads.

Due to the recent issues with Google Maps, I have put in the coordinates of the Meeting point on the drive post. Please check it up before you leave the house, the last thing we would need is for you to arrive in Qudra instead of Quaa. Meeting Point: https://goo.gl/maps/6kiP3wMm29u18diF6 (Coordinates : 23°28'59.2"N 55°12'50.5"E)

@Gok Krish there are plenty of places to camp the previous night and I guess you will have quite a few for company. However, I would request everyone to ensure that to not over burden your cars, you will need all the power to climb some of these dunes. So try to stay as light as possible, that's why I mentioned that there is no need of extra fuel. I would most probably be driving down on Saturday morning.

Drive Info With the cool winter breeze finally starting to set in, its time to hit the big playgrounds that UAE has to offer. And, there is none bigger than the monstrous dunes of Al Quaa. This area has every kind of dune structure possible, pyramid dunes, starfish dune, steep slip faces, and bowls the size of a football stadium. BOWLS STARFISH DUNES STEEP SLIP FACES This will be the ultimate test of driver and machine. You will be redlining the engine, and your car will still crave for more. And if you felt the the above was not enough, here is the best part - we will be joined by @Frederic and @Gaurav So drivers, Start your engines!!! Important Points for all drive participants This drive is for Intermediates who have already completed min. 2 IM drives with Carnity. Keep your car as light as possible. This is not a drive to have passengers. There is no need to carry extra fuel Ensure that you are with a tank full to the brim at the meeting point The plan is to end the drive when we run out of fuel (so please dont keep any kind of other appointments for that day). Take the E95 route only, as that has the closest gas station. All other routes dont have any gas station close to the meeting point. Ensure that your car is in the best possible condition. Finally, if you run out of fuel in the middle of the drive, it would be sold by the other team members at AED 100 per litre🤣. So ensure that you conserve fuel by turning the engine off at every break. Bring some quick wrapped sandwiches or lunch to eat along the way. We request every member that joins this drive to go through the below information and strictly follow these guidelines, etiquettes and responsibilities. MUST READ AND COMPLY Offroad Flag Guideline Two Way Radio Guideline Off road Driving Etiquette's Emergency details for all off-roaders Off Road Driving - Roles & Responsibilities Drive Details Level: Intermediate+ (min. 2 Intermediate drives with Carnity) and above Meeting time: 08:00 AM Saturday (deflated and ready to move) Meeting Point: https://goo.gl/maps/6kiP3wMm29u18diF6 (Coordinates : 23°28'59.2"N 55°12'50.5"E) Approximate finish time: When we run out of fuel Type of Car: Any proper 4x4 with front and back tow hooks and 8-10 inches of ground clearance. Wonderful. Look forward to seeing the manual LC in action. What is the gear ratio of the manual vs the automatic? -

Might be a good idea to actually take a weighing gauge and compare the weights. In my Geolandars I unknowingly selected the LT version of the AT which is a heavier version than the regular AT -
Probably because many of them are rented cars and are not actually owned
