Is it possible to remove the rear seats without tools?

Don't you know my friend that there is no problem with the seat in the front and that European cars have the option to switch off the passenger airbag (in order to have the seat at the front) with the ignition key since over 10 years? I think even the Pathfinder I'm renting at the moment has that option.
