  1. I've got a car (my oldest one) which is about to turn 17 years and it's still roaring.

    I had the CEL on once, all I did is change the EGR valve and cleaned the Throttle body, along with the intake manifold and the Mass Air Flow/sensor, and the CEL is gone...

    Maybe you can try it too, it doesn't cost too much...

    Cheers.

    PS: it now has more than 300 thousand kms on the clock.

  2. @barry and desertdude;

    i couldn't really identify if its the engine or the tranny, but.... 'it seems like' its the tranny as i hear the engine revs before the tranny responds... i may be wrong..

    the DSG/filter has never been changed, i was told by the audi mechanic (sonny) that those tranny types don't require oil/filter change unless is shifts very badly which is not my case, the car shifts smoothly.

    @hAwX;

    reason is, i have other cars of japanese and american make and i don't experience it with supposedly cheaper cars and it makes me feel bad i have to experience it with the supposedly expensiver car.

    @taqir;

    no i don't think its a turbo..

    thanks for your replies.

  3. Guys,

    When I step on the gas, from parked position, the car won't respond right away, probably 0.5 sec approx, and when it's running and I let go off the gas (say coming to a round about), once I step on it again, it takes awhile to respond, doesn't matter which gear the car's engage to.

    Anyone experiencing the same?? Can somebody shed light into this.. the Q7 is 2007 model 4.2 V8, if that would help.

    Thanks in advance..

    Cheers.

  4. I have/had Japanese/American cars and an Audi. Once they start having problems, it will surely become a headache, and I believe BMW doesn't make any difference..

    The only advantage for these Jap cars are.....................parts are cheaper (esp. Toyota) and you can bring them into any garage, even sidewalk garage (no offense), therefore easier to maintain.. unlike with these German/European cars that most requires specialists'...

    apologies for getting off topic tho'..

  5. Thanks for your responses, much appreciated.

    Had the transmission oil checked last month just to be sure that it wasn't the culprit ( I do change it every 40T km in my other car.) and it was fine as per the mechanic. I was even told that these type of transmissions do not require oil change, tho' I don't really buy it.

    Right after I posted the Subject, I went on to scour the internet hoping to find similar problem, it seems that this is a 'common' problem (or was it in GCC?) for Audi's as I've seen a few topics from other American and European Audi forums. They mentioned that updating the Transmission software is a common fix. Hanif maybe right about the sensors or control modules.....

    Now, just a follow up question, how do you guys update the transmission software? Do you guys know any reputable VAG garage that can carry out the job?
