  1. Amazing choice @Asif Hussain looks promising. @sertac seems to be a testing area. Your side is good and your skills are not so bad from what I've noticed on the previous drive. If you believe you are capable of handling medium to talk dunes you're most welcome to join. If you come and feel you are not ready for the challenge you can join one of us in our rides. What say?
  2. It was truly a memorable and relaxed drive with loads of fun. Thanks to everyone.
  3. Good one Gaurav bhai. I'm in with full support.
  4. I have several times done small service and repairs by myself and I would love to carry out bigger jobs on my own. Space and lack of tools at times stops me from doing it. At times it's my bad shoulder. Still like to watch and help whenever I can.
  5. @Jeh we saw some people sand boarding on top of Pink Rocks which is easily accessible from the back road all the way up. Just worried about traffic though specially with the weather getting better and more clubs opening their doors to more off-road drives. There are many dunes of you take the road from Maliha to Tawi Nazwa, you can find any suitable dune, leave your car by the road side and enjoy some sand boarding.
  6. Waiting for @skumar83 trip report, here is my point of view. Met on time at the designated area, has a quick bite and we were off to the deflation point. After deflation and a quick word for the drivers brief we were off right on top of Big Red. Accompanied by my wife who felt that @skumar83 was a bit to adventurous with a scream every here and there, I felt proud that someone within 8 months and just 30 off drives could lead so well. Only in Carnity. @baselsm83 also managed well and kept up with what turned out to be a quick thrilling ride to Pink Rocks. At this point my wife was like she liked roller coaster rides better because she knows they get over in 2 minutes. Being early I asked if they wanted to continue to Fossil Rocks and they were all game, so started a section of off-road journey which linked the 2 areas together. This clears the air on why we call it out sand box. The second part was almost as enjoyable and we flew at good pace to reach the Fossil Rocks at a good time after rescuing a couple of vehicles on the way. The weather was beautiful as was the company. All in all we had the flavour of 2 drives in a day with over 50 kilometers covered off-road. My kudos to the team who keeps learning and growing in experience and confidence. Thanks @skumar83 for a wonderful day out in our beloved place.
  7. How can I miss your drive. I loved your first one and I'm in with full support for this one. Love the morning fresh breeze.
  8. Wow @NOOR OMAR what a breathtaking video. Although the drone shot was a bit shaky, maybe due to the high winds but the overall video made the hair stand. I guess this is a good time to post the trip report. This was 1 of the trips we enjoyed so much that we had to continue on the Saturday. We all met on time and we deflated and headed in. We drove by the fence for less than 3 kilometers before taking on the dunes. The convoy level being very experienced we drove at a fewbie+ level. We drove at a good pace through some fairly small to medium dunes and headed through 2 of the 3 pyramids to approach Iftar bowl at sunset. One by one we tried climbing the Iftar Bowl and failed as not only was the sand soft, but 3 bumps that broke the momentum badly. Only Noor was able to make it to the top. We heard One of our members was in trouble and headed to the back of Iftar Bowl which was not a pretty scene. The car had got a wall of a dune head on and after a little inspection the gear oil has leaked. With a lot of patience, coordination and some really hard work @Gaurav bhai we moved it to a flat and high ground. A pop-out also had to be fixed. Soon we realized that the car was not going to move on its own power and we could not pull it out due to the location we were in. Thanks to @shadow79 who had the idea of what was to be done. After removing the gear oil cooler we headed out locking the car. Saturday we were back and drive in within no time for Saleem to make the necessary temporary fix. Pumping oil was another challenge as there was no was but to do it from under the car. We managed it just before sunset and headed out. Just adjusting stuff by the road side and the police shower up, so the police report was made within no time. We headed to inflate our tires at the Adnoc pump and headed back home. Thanks to Gaurav bhai for some awesome sandwiches on both days and Noor for some fireside sausages, sweet potato and corn. Until next time, stay safe and thank you for being family away from family.

Alf Mabrook on your new ride. Looks amazing and very photogenic.
  10. @Moiz wow, it's great to see feedback as to how it actually went and problem resolved. Now this is rare to see.
  11. @Alfie good luck bro. Do share your experience.
  12. @Asif Hussain you're reading our minds. Should we be scared.
  13. Weather is turning amazing and when hot weather couldn't stop us from burning up the desert, we are not going to let this cooler breeze go to waste. Area 53 is an extension of Bidayer area but with medium - big dunes with sharp rise and fall, at the same time suitable for Newbies to learn and enjoy the medium dune range. Where I would like to have newbies, just in case we have our regular drivers this area is truly perfect for rushing your adrenaline and hone your desert driving controls. This area requires precise control as one moment you climb up with full throttle and second moment you crawl at low rev before hitting the gas again for sideways climbs. This drive is meant for newbie - fewbie level, only if we do not have any newbie drivers the level will be revised to a Fewbie + level. When: 27 October 2017, Friday Meeting time: 2 PM, convoy will move sharp at 2:15 PM Where: Tawi Nizwa shops GPS Coordinate: https://goo.gl/maps/KAZQNHFTjvj Level of drive: Either Newbie or Fewbie + depending on convoy level Type of Car: Any proper 4x4 with front and back tow hooks and 10 inches of ground clearance Plan: Afternoon drive from Tawi Nizwa to Iftar Bowl and enjoy some snacks together. 15. Great report and seems I missed a good one. Had to give some time to the family departing on Sunday morning. Will be sure to join next week onwards.
  16. Ford is the best selling truck over several years in USA. I have test driven it and love it for quite a few reasons. Never ride in a Tundra so no idea how to compare the two.
  17. OMG. I remember some time back when Gulf News wanted to make and shame drivers who we're overspending by printing their details in their paper, some people took it as show off to have their car printed the next day.
  18. Nice video Noor, good to have a different point of view. You could do a lot better with the selection of music. Well done bro. BTW do you have a drone as well?
  19. With pleasure. We should never forget our roots. I started scared and not knowing how to put everything I learned to practice. But some very patient people stood by me and guided me through every step. This was not in exchange for money, only with an unsaid promise of being there for anyone who wants to learn.
  20. Running different brand of tires would also worry me as the weight of each tire company if different as per built quality and materials used even though they m8but be the same size.
  21. Well worth the wait @baselsm83 you amazed me from the post, to the meetuo, to driving up to the deflation point, to your first briefing. To convoy numbering, to the most amazing lead in the area. I love the flavour of your drive bro. Looking forward to a lot more drives from you bro.
  22. I'm really looking forward to Basel's drive tomorrow but need to leave early due to family commitments. I would like to request for all participants to be on time.
  23. English please. I don't speak mechanic @desertdude
  24. Nissan Pathfinder. Anybody lost. Hahaha.
  25. The lower the octane level the more fuel is burnt, the higher the octane level more difficult to burn fuel. E plus has 91 octane, whereas special has 95 and super is 98 octane. Bigger engine needs higher octane to burn fuel slowly. If you use E plus than fuel is burnt quickly and at times will leave a knocking on your engine. Just my 2 fils.
