Thanks for sharing @Barry I heard they are going to bring back the Jeep Commander next year and I am really excited. It has been one of my best rides to date and I hope they are not going to perform a vasectomy on it before reintroducing it to the market. Demon it is @Barry. Now you are growing my bucket list with everything Dodge.

Well started and amazing finish, not only your driving skills and quickness in picking up the techniques of driving off-road, but the way you described the trip. It really paints a picture in my head and I go back to the amazing moments we had on the trip. Thanks for sharing your experience with us @waqaszohair you made my day wonderful.

I am a simple man with simple dreams. Are you Dodge has got big on me. I have driven a 5.7 Hemi on a Jeep Commander, and test driven the same on a Ram 1500. I would now like to add the Dodge Charger Hellcat on Road, and the Dodge Durrango Crew version off-road.

Both groups will then head to the Tawi Khatimah Mountain where we will deflate to make our way to the mountain top where we can set up camp and relax with chat, food, drinks and shisha. Amazing photo opportunity awaits for all of us at night and sun rise to show off with our families and friends and then we can head down to do little desert trip if any one desires. Movie Night - Fast and Furious 8 - 14 Apr 2017
Rahimdad replied to Gaurav's topic in Meet up and Drives - Off-road / Scenic
All the best @cyborg I have tried 4DX and its not the thing for me. The way it shakes you around you are more concentrate on that than the movie, plus every time there is an explosion you are blasted with clod air instead of warm or hot air, which really spoils it for me. Whatever I want in 4DX I do on my trips on the weekend for real.- 20 replies

Looking forward to hear a lot of stories from you @tamils_siva, your stories are much more interesting, specially the way you use words.
-
@tamils_siva Where have you been all my life. This is the best trip report ever from a third person perspective besides the one Dipak had done. I have just attracted a lot of attention laughing out so loud with every line. Thoroughly enjoyable write up and I am going to read it over and over again. @Gaurav bhai, this weeks prize should go to Tamil for such a nice company over teh drive, managing well through and through, but mostly for this excellent write-up.

@Barry Maybe the following ideas can help you survive: 1) Tell her you cannot carry shopping bags in the theater, so shopping after the Mall has closed. 2) Just take loads of time to get ready or better, cause delays in her getting ready and than say you are late and cannot shop or else you will miss the movie of the year. 3) Worse possible scenario, change your girl friend, she is just too bossy. Disclaimer : This is just meant to be a joke, do not take seriously. Any consequences resulting in following any of the above advises will be your sole responsibility and cannot be used in the court of law against me. Hahahahaha "Happy shopping"- 20 replies

Fixing a USB player by removing cassete player
Rahimdad replied to Ralok's topic in Nissan Altima Forum in UAE
@desertdude that is a good idea, but meant for aux connection only, he wants a USB connection. -
Yes @Gaurav bhai, the first part was the silk route, the second part was always going to be challenging. But also rightly said is after the challenging drive only you will enjoy and cherish the beauty of what we had at the top. A special thanks does go out to Saeed who shared this beautiful mountain route with me. We saw the other 3 cars struggling to come up despite you teasing them with your flash light, as the boulders are laid in such a way you think the road is blocked to go up. Only for those who know you have to go around the boulders to get on to the real climb.

Fixing a USB player by removing cassete player
Rahimdad replied to Ralok's topic in Nissan Altima Forum in UAE
Just change your head unit to any aftermarket one from one of the audio shops, most of them support aux and usb. Hope this helps. -
@Aussie82 OMG that's terrible, I know a lot of people play with the mileage to get a better resale value, morally incorrect. But I never heard such a horror story and do not know how to guide you. Maybe you could see the manager of RTA, they seem to be nice, friendly and helpful people. Explain to them the whole story and how you were cheated on this case and ask for his advise. RTA have the drivers details who sold the car to you, and maybe they can help resolve this issue.

What can I say, nothing I would have never said before. Awesome day out with equally awesome people. Waqas, Kavin, Basel, Noor, Tamil Siva, Gaurav and myself formed a formidable team. For the first time we had Waqas bhai in second lead and he did very well. Kavin reached the base of Fossil Rock with 20 PSI which was awesome. Noor despite his see-saw episode completed the track with a huge smile on him. Basel just smiled all the way and kept all of us refreshed with his beautiful smile. Tamil was a real champ returning from the GNFD Liwa 2017, he managed absolutely well. Gaurav bhai ended up as sweep again and kept the convoy moving at a great pace through the desert. We all managed to reach Fossil Rock and come down the steep end safely and it was good time to begin phase 2. So we started out approach to the ghost town, to my surprise there is now a track running close to the mountain range which takes you directly onto the track up. We all inflated to 25 PSI, although initially Gaurav bhai wanted to catch some natural light but agreed to spend some time inflating. This was time well spent as the track is not as forgiving as it looks from a distance and anybody who is not aware of the trail will just go round in circles and give up. We saw 3 cars trying to come up and were searching for a way for 30 minutes before Gaurav bhai started teasing them with a flashing light from top. After about another 10 to 15 minutes of looking around they just have up and headed back. Climbing up the mountain was challenging due to narrow paths, some of the pathway had given away due to rains, loose gravel and rocks and some rocks we had to take our cars over due to narrow path. Luckily inflation meant we were high enough to escape from the path unscathed. Once on top everyone enjoyed the experience, loved the view from top and loved the cool breeze which was one of the best feature of this trip. We lay out stuff and started to relax. Thanks to Gaurav bhai who intalled the street lamp for some light while we had some snacks. Kavin and his wife got some lovely pakodas, Waqas bhai got awesome French toast, Gaurav bhai got some brilliant pasta and I was carrying some kiddy stuff. With same cool drinks we filled ourselves over a few laughs. Getting adventurous Gaurav bhai and me walked over a ridge hand in hand as it got narrow enough for just one person to pass through and a steep drop in either side, just for a smoke and returned the same way, the only path available. As we packed up, headed down and through the tracks to some tarmac to drive to the closest petrol station to inflate our tyres and with some long good byes to head back home. Lovely trip with loving, sharing and caring people. All I know is we still did not have enough and an overnight camping trip is on the cards. But for now we look forward to crossing over to the next weekend for the movie night with Fast and furious 8. My pictures uploaded in the gallery, waiting to see others picture and video: https://carnity.com/gallery/category/13-al-faya-sand-and-mountain-7-apr-2017/

Porsche Scrap Yard in UAE/Sharjah/Dubai?
Rahimdad replied to kanester's topic in Porsche General Discussion Forum in UAE
@kanester Please go through the below link for car spare parts and scrapyards, their numbers are there in each link and hopefully will help you the parts you are looking for your Porshe Cayenne. https://carnity.com/business_listing/car-spare-parts/ -
@Gaurav bhai to add to your excitement I can show you some videos from Mighty Car Mods when they visited the garage that brought the Fast and the Furious series cars come to life. They even managed to build a scrap car in to a fast and furious car with only the spares available to them in that garage in about 5 hours. Fast and the Furious 8 is also partially shot in Cuba and the Mighty Car Mods also visited Cuba recently and I was glued to 30 minutes of the car history and culture in Cuba.

I have no words to describe this beautiful video, it is close to my heart also because you celebrated my birthday in a wow way. I showed the video to my family and my mom asked who makes these videos. I told her it was @Gaurav bhai and she was shocked and amazed. After coming out of the shock she was like it is brilliantly done and wanted to watch more of your work. Well done bro.

Recommndation For Good Painting Garage For VW Tiguan
Rahimdad replied to vivian's topic in Volkswagen Tiguan Forum in UAE
@vivian thanks for posting the pics, looks like very negligible, but as I pointed out earlier the RTA follow the rules to their own comfort, they pass my falling apart LR Discovery 4 years in a row, but my 2009 Megane they failed and just for a slight paint chip. However the paint chip on the boot for my Megane looked worse than what you are facing. -
@Abdul Basit Khan I have added your name to the main list, kindly advise your mobile number just in case we need to advise changes or to keep track of all participants.

Recommndation For Good Painting Garage For VW Tiguan
Rahimdad replied to vivian's topic in Volkswagen Tiguan Forum in UAE
@vivian as per my experience I had a Land Rover Discover 1998 which had its paint and bumpers all falling off and yet it got passed 4 years in a row. I had a Marshal Sticker from Gulf News Fun Drive on the bonnet which I could not removed and left it on, they passed it 3 years in a row, the fourth year they failed it for that sticker. In case of my Renault Megane, there was some fading of the paint on the boot of my car and they failed it. So it all depends. Good to do your home work, however only worth to invest in repainting if they actually fail the car. There is a thread from @Gaurav who repainted his Pajero where I get my panel repainted as and when required and they do a pretty good job at a good price. You can get in touch with @Gaurav if you like what you see.
