I remember back in the 1970's and early 80's they used to be called Datsun/Nissan, what happened to Datsun and why it changed to only Nissan since late 80's?

Sorry for the 2 years delay in response, however this is intended to help those who will need this guide as a future help. Since this is a bit complicated I am posting it step by step. 1.)turn the key to the on position (do not crank over the motor....dont start the engine) 2.) wait 3 seconds.... and then fully step on the gas and let go fully 5 times with in 5 seconds.... (ex. wait...3....stomp.stomp.stomp.stomp.stomp 3.)wait 6 seconds....(not stepping on gas pedal) 4. FULLY PRESS down on gas pedal and hold for about 10 seconds. 5.) the check engine light should be flashing.10 times and stop a few seconds and then 10 and stop.....etc. 6. hold down pedal again 10 secs. 7. release pedal.....turn key off..... 8...wait a few seconds and turn the motor on.....check engine light should be gone.

Hahahahaha. Let me know when you receive the delivery.

Many clubs continue to have drives during the summer as well, most of them night drives to avoid the heat during the day time. Sorry for the late response.

Besides the cost of the car, i do not think this car would be street legal and you might find it difficult to register the same in Dubai.

I have personally test driven and would rank the trucks as follows in my opinion: 1. Ram 1500 - Crew Cab - Laramie if you can afford it. I had seen the Cummins Turbo Charged Diesel engine at Trading Enterprise in Festival City, one mean truck but not for sale in the UAE market, only for export. 2. Ford F150 FX4 - Crew Cab - Love the suspensions on the F150, plus I have a friend who owns one and rode with him in the desert for the Gulf News Fun Drive and that thing is both powerful and comfortable to ride for 8 hours without any pains and aches. 3. Chevrolet Silverado - Hate the truck and hate the high price, I don't think it is worth it.

Lets see if this Friday morning desert drive if someone gets badly stuck, i am going to try this technique and post the results here. I will try to get a video for our reference also.

Thanks for sharing Vanhack. Seems like a simple and useful tool. Maybe we can try to do a make shift claw on one of our drives and try this out in the sands here and see if it works.

I was wondering if any of the members here would like to try desert driving. To introduce myself, I have been an avid off-roader for the past 8 years and I have all the desert equipment ready in my vehicle. If anyone is interested to have a short drive in the desert just for the experience I will be more than happy to have it early in the morning at about 6 am when it is nice and cool so that we can finish off by 8:30 or 9 am. All that the participants would require would be a tire deflator, a tire pressure gauge and preferably a UHF radio, all these are available from Dragon Mart at a Reasonable rate. So if anyone is interested please post your interest here and I will take it from there. I will however require at least 1 more experienced hand to help me sweep the drive.

The concept is somewhat like having driving chains on snow surface.

From what I have read it works on most Nissan and Infinity Models up to the year 2008. There are a lot of genius out there who figure out how to save big bucks, just have to research and try, even if you don't succeed there is no harm done. There is one more way to get rid of the airbag lights on Nissan and Infinity cars. Switch the engine on but do not start the car, than there is a black button on the door frame that controls the illumination of the lights in side the car, press and release the button 10 times and than switch your car off and than on again and start the car. The newer models have a check system for the engine and other components so the airbag light you will see will blink very slowly for about 10 seconds and than the light will be gone for good. If the problem persists you need to take your ride in to Nissan or anyone who has the proper OBD and get it checked. All car companies nowadays set a trigger to have the check engine light or airbag light come on so that you can pay them big bucks to clear the error code or tell you that it is an expensive process of changing your airbag sensors and systems. The choice is yours, but after reading this column make an educated guess and maybe you will be able to save big bucks by following these simple procedures on your Nissan or Infinity vehicles.

There are some scrap shops left in the Sharjah Industrial Area, but the Sharjah main scrap market has shifted after the Sharjah Airport on the way to Dhaid just behind the cement factory. Houston Auto Spare parts also carries all so are parts for all American cars behind Macro man Sharjah Industrial Area.

Lol Gaurav bhai. We old school guys like to do things the hard way. Let's see how the reports come in for the Montana. I also heard the new Garmin Nuvi can record tracks, use it in reverse and mark some waypoints. Someone was telling me the Mio GPS comes cheap with a camera and you can mark the waypoints with a pic.

Have a look at the new Mitsubishi Montero Sport or the newer Mitsubishi Pajero and it's going space age. At least they have some feel nice soft materials in the cars, the new Toyota Fortuner is hard plastic all over inside and really uncomfortable. Just taking advantage of the name they have created in the market.

Hope that you are well Gaurav bhai. We All met at the Adnoc pump by 3:30 pm and since I was unable to understand to format of the waypoints posted by you so I let Irfan bhai take the lead. He lead very well and after deflating at the entry point and after a short drivers briefing we were off. There was a slight confusion with the route but found our way. Irfan bhai managed very well and after 30 minutes stop at the end point we turned back and returned to the deflation place. We were out by 7 pm. Wow that's cool, you got a pic.hehehehe. Started researching and reading about Polaris for Android devices which can be used for Marine purpose and off-road plus hiking. Seems like a wonderful app for Android, Not sure if they have anything for IOS.

I have heard about the Montana but not seen it, do keep us posted on the performance of the Montana off-road. Nice bit of information to know that airlines in Zambia using the 276C. Cheers.

Its a shame how more and more off-road vehicles end up looking like an egg on 4 wheels and loose their off-road capabilities, or are restricted by all the computers on board.
