Advice purchasing a 4x4 in Dubai!
Rahimdad replied to redonettii's topic in Offroad General Discussion
If you're looking for a big luxurious car go for Infinity QX 56 or Lexus LX470 or GX470. Sure it will be a bit old depending on your budget, but capable off-roaders with ample of power and torque. -
Advice purchasing a 4x4 in Dubai!
Rahimdad replied to redonettii's topic in Offroad General Discussion
Just to clear one thing here, last I heard Toyota does not provide the V6 for the SWB anymore. It seems because they are concentrating on telling the Ruba. -
I didn't know I was so popular. 😜 Here is the waitlist for this drive. 1. @tcarrimjee 2. @Mohamed Seidam 3. @jodha singh shekhawat 4. @Javier Lucero 5. @Senthil Kumar i@javieri Will notify you if anyone signs out of this drive. I wanted to name this drive "Following @Wrangeld shadow" as this is going to be a repeat for me when I got delayed and just could not catch up with the convoy.

TRIP REPORT A chilly early morning start which was full of surprises. The best surprise was to reach early and see most of the convoy already deflating. One of the bad surprises was @abdallah hussein did not show up and I had no intimation of that. Radios that were not charged properly or was a faulty piece sold by the shop. Biggest surprise was my car count was not lower. I later realized that @sheri had joined the drive around 10 pm after I had locked my drive at 8pm and gone to sleep. I was always in search for some virgin dunes and discovered some nice clean patches early on. As we came close th Pink Rocks I saw so many convoys playing around and there were cross tracks all over the place. At this point I decided to cross Pink Rocks and play around on the other side. With a bit of a paved way for us we were able to make it to some very nice dunes very quickly. Everybody managed to keep good pace and kept the convoy closely knit. As we approached Big Red and jyst as I was about to exit I saw a clean face on one side and decided we were going to play. Sideys was the name of the game and everyone one did so well to show case their skills with steering and throttle control. After everyone had their fill and as it started to get hot we exited, inflated and head back home to be glued to our screens on Sunday at 7 pm to grab any available spaces. My thanks to @Ashy as my second lead, he did very well in handling his JGC. @PN1207 did very well at number 3, but needs a little bit more practice with his throttle control. @Roopesh babu still needs to apply what we have taught in theory, but managed himself well on the trip. @Francois Germishuys just added thrill to the group with his very loud F150 which I could hear from 200 meters behind me. What an awesome feeling. @Franco Swart did really well with his little Pajero. Awesome sight to see good control on both steering and throttle. My sincere thanks to @Alexander Alcala performing the most difficult job of Centre Forward to keep the convoy moving. @Anand Nataraj did very well with his Xterra. @sheri did well to keep up and I never heard any refusals from him. @Vijaysekhar was very pleasing to the eyes to watch as he not only had good control but all his manoeuvres were with grace and poise. @Shyam Karat only impresses me every time I drive with him. @Gok Krish and @Kailas right at the end kept the whole convoy moving and enjoyed driving together in the back. Special thanks to @Kailas to be my sweep and keeping me updated about the condition in the back at regular intervals. All in all a brilliant drive, but more interesting was the fact that so many members appreciate and want to do more to help out our community. Rest assured with growing numbers all of you are headed in the right direction to contribute and make our community stronger. Until next time adios amigos and Amigas.

There are 1002 cases today as well. Looks like second wave is on. If people take it too easy and the vaccines are not made available soon be ready for a 3rd and 4th wave also. Each one of us needs to take precaution to keep our family, friends and near and dear ones safe.

@topgear too little respect given to Marshals and it's not paid. Some of those old timers who understood the value of Marshals are long gone and with GNFD last attempt for Guineas book of World Records for most number of 4x4s off road I completely lost it. 60 Marshals to control over 1000 cars, plus media vehicles, plus VIPs. The worst mistake we had to clear a fenced area where only one car could come through at a point and the kept the counting station for the World Record just after that fence in an open field where 60 Marshal cars could not block the area. So the record was lost even before the event took off. Really that was a point when I felt it was totally unsafe and quit.

Carnity Leaders DRONE CHALLENGE
Rahimdad replied to Lorenzo Candelpergher's topic in General Discussions
Very complicated stuff explained in a very easy to understand language. @Gaurav bhai would you like to start with the story board, likely terrain, place and time to shoot this out. I believe the best lead for this will also be @Gaurav bhai as he really creates beautiful and adventurous routes. I am in with full support as required @Lorenzo Candelpergher. Never good at photography or angles or light. Will follow your orders like a good boy.- 22 replies

What are you pet peeves whilst driving on the road?
Rahimdad replied to topgear's topic in General Discussions
I guess I've just developed patience and humour to keep me calm on the roads. Plus I realize that everyone besides me needed to reach their destination yesterday, so they're already running late.
