Since using camera while driving is not allowed, you can use gopro attached to your car. I used to have one always attached to my car than i noticed i am not doing anything with those footage without editing properly than i quit recording. If you are lucky sometimes you can catch very good record, it happen to me only ones, generally either drive is being too slow or you are waiting long in some spot and it makes the record boring.

If you see the picture in the first video you shared it is flat ground. Such stuck will happen very very rare. It will happen if you not deflated, even in that case if you be smart and not give full gas and not keep digging until your chassis sit on the sand you can take your self out with deflating. So such accessories is not very useful here in UAE. We are mostly getting crested top of the dune, which this things will be useless for recovery.

Actually i am also not opening AC on my Grand Cherokee. I am not sure if the compressor cuts itself when the pressure goes high, like new cars. I am afraid to create too much pressure on high rpm and causing ac leak so i am keeping it closed.

Help chose! Do-it-all vs separate off roader (LR Discovery vs Volvo XC90)

Great footage and great climb. Wrangler with a supercharger will be a great off roader. -

I think what i am saying is understood wrongly. I am not saying you need a V8 to reach top of iftar bowl or faya or big red. I am also one of the person was climbing there(except iftar bowl) with a 190hp 6cyl Cherokee and i know that 4cyl car very well i saw many crazy things that car did. Also i know very well that to learn low power vehicle is better. All i am trying to say is V8 has no down point when it comes to off roading and it is actually an advantage once you are climbing long dunes like very top of the pink rock, the point just before the rocks start. Also it is extra fun after you learn all the technics. Why not more power. Why not reaching the Faya with %70 gas instead of barely making there. -

I have been with this group at pink rock, faya and big red countless time. I never seen any of the 6 cylinder car we have touched to top of the pink rock. Best one is Gaurav`s Pajero even that one is not as good as a Hemi or 6.2 Raptor. It is not logical. We are talking about at least %60 in some cases up to %100 more power. Not everyone is beginner driving those V8 like the samples in Grand Cherokee group you have. -

So as i see actually there is no down point of having V8 over a V6 as an engine. V6 is enough i agree, i am also having my WJ as 6 cylinder and my old Cherokee was also 6 cylinder. What makes me bothered in my off road experience is when i am at Faya or pink rock watching all those V8s are reaching top flying, yes mine also reaching top of the Faya but barely. If i was preparing a WK2 for off roading i would go for an early model 2011-2013 it has proper tow points, easily removable bottom plastic parts on bumpers and prices came down to a very logical point. -

@Brette i couldn't understand why a V8 will be a nightmare in the desert? Isn't the power ratio the key for a successful off road vehicle? -

Grand Cherokee's are my thing and 5.7 is what I have on my father's 2011 limited. I can't say much other than very good experience on that engine. Ours are currently at 130.000km on the clock and it's been with us since 60.000km. Only issue we had was some misfire issue. We change the 1 coil 2. Hand for 150aed and wolla issue solved. No any other issues with that engine. Note that this thing is quick, when you give the gas it will show what it got. Don't go with 3.6 if you can afford 5.7. 3.6 also and amazing engine but Grand Cherokee needs a V8 to have some fun. Air suspension is something I haven't tried. Ours is limited and came with basic suspensions. When I talk about general reliability. 1 year ago when car reached 110.000km it needed lower and upper arms to be changed. It wasn't quite expensive because we used dublicate Turkish made parts and no problem about that so far 6 months ago backup camera start not working and mechanics at Al Qouz couldnt figure it out, they are offering to change camera, since we don't need a back up camera it stays as it is. Biggest f*ck up was around 2 years ago battery died and after we put the new battery electric trunk stop working. Also few mechanics we went at AL Quoz couldn't figure it out and we end up going to Jeep stealership. They quoted 12.000 😲 when I check the list they put everything from trunk struts to computers to fuse box. So they weren't figure it out also they changed everything related to trunk. With negotiations we end up paying 8000 for that electric trunk. If you ask me would I buy that again hell yes what should I bought super reliable Prado 2.7 for that price definitely I will choose the grand cherokee all day long. After a hard day just go to the highway and slam the gas pedal orchestra named hemi will make everything go away. -

It was a great drive. This time we had chance to taste the lead of @Jeepie and @Wrangeld, both did amazing choices of route. We had few stucks, few refusals and 1 pop out situation. All handled well. Thanks to @Rahimdad bhai finally i got my new kinetic rope and felt more ready for sweep duty. Also it was good idea to add 2 extra fan to Jeep, because of extra fans even with extreme heat Jeep never passed the 100C. At the end we approach the Fossil Rock. Whenever we reach that point it reminds me my absolute newbie drive. I am not forgetting that excitement even after 3 years. Big thanks to everyone who participate the drive and special thanks to @Jeepie and @Wrangeld for lead, @Rahimdad for giving that secure feeling of having Superman with us and @Vanessa8580 for keeping her eye on the convoy and sharing her experience with others.
