  2. It was an amazing drive and not only @Naveen Rajimpressed me but also @Hasan Wahlan who was the perfect second lead always keeping a cool head and displaying a fantastic self recovery ! Thanks for the support @Lorenzo Candelpergher ! See you all soon in the sand again !
  3. @Danish Mohammad 265/60/18 is a rather low profile tyre which will be more prone to pop outs, but not so very common on a SWB vehicle, so I suspect it’s more to do with fighting gravity or counter steering. Make sure to check your tyre pressure with a second pressure gauge just to make sure it’s accurate. On Vanessas car we changed the rims to 17inch and put 265/70/17 Tyres on it, which has more sidewall and should reduce the risk for pop outs.
  4. @Hasan Wahlan and @Naveen Raj thanks for joining this drive. The Fayah terrain has lots to discover and with the help of @Lorenzo Candelpergher we will be able to stretch our legs a bit and put some miles on the odometer We will be using channel 2: 446.03125 Mhz See you guys at 6AM tomorrow morning. Be careful not to access the roads before 5AM as to not break the curfew rules in AD.
  5. Well made video, and he is using the same steps we teach as well: 1) Step out of the vehicle and assess your situation to see in which direction you could get out easily (fwd or reverse) . Stop applying more gas. 2) Switch over to Low Gear. Activate Rear Difflock if you have. 3) Keep turning the steering wheel full left - full right while applying small amount of throttle (+/- 1500rpm). If there is no movement/improvement at all, take out your shovel and clear the wheels and underbody where needed. Then try again.
  6. The main reason is because these switches are "tricking" the vehicle's ECU. For example the regular kill switch requires you to "ground" a sensor. As the Cronos has different functionalities this sometimes messes with the ECU and leads to blinking lights and other odd behavior. For me, the classic kill switch i have installed myself works fine and i found the Cronos to be above my budget for what it was.
  7. That is a very good point you are bringing. Personally i used to copy/paste the browser hyperlinks into a Word file called "Carnity Articles". But it would indeed be interesting to have a kind of bookmarks configuration. The Search function also works pretty well, and most of the time i use to trace back old articles.
  8. That severely limits the potential areas for flying: https://www.gcaa.gov.ae/en/Pages/NoFlyZone.aspx Al Qudra area is fine, including most of Marmoon conservatory: Al Aweer, Suwaydan, and Maliha areas are OK.
  9. Fantastic video @Enrico Biscaro ! I have two drones, and occasionally try to find the time and space to fly them. Oddly enough, during flying, i am more in awe of the technology the drone has to reach these heights and maneuver effortlessly, and i don't spend enough time on the recording and video-editing part. But looking at your video now i completely get the majestic recording and the soundtrack that gave the right ambience as well. I hope i will find more time to practice and get better recordings. I am looking for the winter to come back soon so we can setup the tent and enjoy the scenery !
  10. Looks like your Pajero is consuming 17.3 l/100km according to its own calculations. That is quite a lot. Did you get your injectors cleaned already ? Our 3.8 LWB is doing around 12.5 l/100km. Of course it depends on drive style and type of driving (city vs highway). You can put a small extra jerrycan in the back of the car, but it's indeed not ideal, hence many people opt for a bracket with external holder. If i were you i would have a further look at that high consumption and maybe get it checked out at the garage. I've heard of many Pajeros with high consumption that dropped after injector cleaning.
  11. These ones look great, and i would love to give them a try. I am certain this will work great on a lifted 4x4 but might be more difficult on a stock vehicle. The JZX 2 ton floor jack has a minimum height of 89mm. Consider another 20mm for the baseplate and you will be around 110mm. I am not sure about the model but i found a similar looking model online that mentioned the minimum height is 150mm.
  12. You can buy petrol cans anywhere in Dubai (petrol stations mainly). Speedex even has the metal ones that can be mounted on the outside with a bracket. But did you start the drive with a full tank ? Usually the extra petrol cans are more for Liwa drives. If you run out of petrol in 4hrs something must be wrong.
  13. Trivia #2 Mahindra was one of the earliest—1947, remember—Jeep licensee, and has had agreements with every one of the many companies that have been stewards of the Jeep brand over history: Willys, Kaiser, American Motors, Renault, Chrysler, Daimler, the Cerberus group, and now Fiat.It also means that technically, Mahindra has had the rights to the Jeep design for decades longer than the current owner, Fiat Chrysler, has.
  14. I have tested the smaller model, which is being sold in the local hardware stores here. It was not even able to lift my little Pajero properly. This was an exhaust jack model. Another time i drove with a friend who imported a big Australian brand model (+400USD) which he could connect to his compressor. This one was working fine and lifted his Landcruiser easily, but we had to be careful not to put it too close to the exhaust pipe or other hot parts as it would melt the bag immediately. Pertaining the tonnage rating, be aware that you are not lifting the full vehicle weight. To fix a popout you will be perhaps only lifting 40-50% of the car.
  15. UPDATE After having verified Shawka Dam, where recently they have installed LED lighting on the parking, we have decided to move the meeting point to Buraq Dam: Meetup Location: Buraq Dam Parking https://goo.gl/maps/KJDj5dukheWD5ArT7 For the people who are attending the Fossil Rock Newbie level drive that same evening, we will be driving together to the meeting point as soon as we are inflated. For the members who are joining us independently, please take note to avoid this route below: Google Maps is not showing the correct information during the drive and might make you confused and lose the exit. The best route is to take the E102 if you are coming from Dubai or Sharjah, and first to enter "Al Thameed Health Centre" as your final location. Once you reach there, change it to the "Buraq Dam" and it will lead you through Fili town. This is an easy and short route. @Gaurav @Zed @munkybizness @Ashok chaturvedi @Savio Fernandes @Paul Zeitoun @samamara @Niki @JeromeFJ @AbdullaB

  18. https://toolguyd.com/quick-guide-to-air-line-couplers-plugs/ There are different types of 1/4 quick release couplings which might look similar but won’t fit and can’t be used with other types.
