On my JZX i left the bleed valve a bit open without realizing it, so i lost some oil a while back and had to refill it by removing the bleed screw, the ball inside, and adding some hydraulic fluid. Right now it seems to work fine again but i am contemplating of moving towards a customized system with a bottle jack. Below base plate for bottle jack (found on Australian Ebay website) would be ideal, but i would reinforce the mounting part of the bottle jack even further by making a second plate that goes on top of the baseplate. the only difficulty i see is that a floor jack has a lower footprint, which makes it easier to get underneath the car. In this scenario the 180mm bottle jack height combined with a 20mm baseplate would mean you have to dig a bit deeper to be able to install it.

@Lakshmi Narasimhan I still remember this cautious fellow arriving with the brand new Pajero, eager to learn, and full of questions. Looking forward a couple of months and your dedication has really paid off. The sand bug has really bitten you and I have seen a massive progress in your skills and the way you handle your ride. Keep up the good work, enjoy every drive and let the wind take you to any corner of the UAE 😜

Fantastic article @Zed ! I have a few Outdoor and 4x4 magazines at home which shows very similar tracks and included GPX files on a CD-ROM. The potential of Abu-Dhabi is baffling. From the more easy tracks we encountered in Fayah, to the monster dunes in Wagan and Bu-Tais, and not even talking about the magnificent LIWA terrain.... As soon as winter hits, we'll be doing regular Full Day drives in Abu Dhabi, including extra jerry cans and maybe even camping gear (if COVID settles down). So prep yourselves and your vehicles, and in the words of Scotty Kilmer: "REV UP YOUR ENGINES" !!

Thanks for your drive report @M.Seidam and the support yesterday morning. Upon the first 15 minutes we headed into the dunes, we had to cross a technical area that made me fear the whole track would be like this, but soon the air cleared and we were greeted by super virgin dunes, indeed quite similar to the Qudra and Lisaili area in Dubai, which in fact is not surprising because the distance from the shore line and mountains is similar. We can easily see the closer you get to the mountains, the more ore colours the sand more brownish and red. We were able to explore quite a bit, and the entire team was performing splendid ! I had a superb second lead watching over me and making small corrections where needed for the convoy. Great job @Xavier Treasurer Also an extra pat on the back of @Humayun Ghias who took the Y62 with stock bumpers unscathed through this area and never struggled anywhere. Mighty impressive ! The minimum amount of refusals and stucks, and a small pop-out which was easily fixed, meant we could cover about 50kms while keeping a good pace. Obviously as this was the very first time we explored the area you can be assured that in the future we can scale it up even further once we gained some experience. I want to thank also our Dubai/Sharjah boys @Lakshmi Narasimhan@Mario Cornejo@Humayun Ghias @GauravSoni @M.Seidamwho took the effort of getting the stick up the nose and driving the distance. I think you can agree these few seconds of inconvenience are totally worth it, and once you will have experienced Sweihan, Bu Tais, Wagan area you will want to set up your tent permanently After all, Fayah is only the tip of the iceberg. Our Abu Dhabi / Al Ain Team came in full force as well, and I love driving with such an amazing team who stick together and demonstrate the camaraderie and jokes during the drive, but are also pro-active in supporting within the convoy. Thank you all for the great morning spent together and looking forward to meeting you all again !

DRIVE RSVP IS NOW CLOSED One of the things i always loved about Off-roading is the ability to explore new areas and to "boldly go where no others have gone before". The Al Fayah area is also new to me so we will see how it goes and if this area could become one of our new Carnity favorites. The plan is to explore this area and keep a brisk pace as much as we can. Hey @Rizwanm2 ! DPI is possible yes. I personally prefer taking PCR test, as we have seen DPI can come back as inconclusive result, and wouldn't allow me to enter AD.

We'll surely try to pass by and drop some stones in the lake
