  1. Hi Dude, if you have questions regarding the 777, or how to fly some approaches, you are always welcome to ask.
  2. My 4 top hobbies at the moment, I have to say they change in priority with time and I have more then 4, but I’ll keep it to the top 4. - Flying (planes, also professional) - Driving (karting, and offroading as a new one) - Backgammon - Diving
  3. Beer is an underestimated hobby. It is a pity that craftsman beer is expensive in Dubai.
  4. The weight of wheels have an impact on the unsprung weight and the rotational weight of the car. The performance and handling are direct influenced by changing the weight of the wheels. The lower the weight of the components the less energy is required to decelerate and accelerate (more delta power available). Google for more info on this topic. Another thing, if you consider to change your offset in the future and you want to do this with spacers (another discussion point if you want to do this with spacers instead of getting the correct offset), it is recommend to do this with non steel wheels.
  5. Welcome to the group Adil, nice summary about your first drive.
  6. It was a nice drive again. Sometimes I am in the writing mood, not today, but instead of a write-up, I made a video of the drive. See you on the 8th of November!
  7. Hi everybody, 50% chance I can make it. I will know for sure on the 17th after 18:00. Hope to see you again on the 18th!
  8. I tried the waterless carwash once somewhere at Jumeirah. I was not impressed with the result..
  9. Good morning everybody, It was a pleasure to meet you all, looking forward to meet you soon. To the "sleepers/ silent readers" of the forum who are considering to join but hesitating (because you might feel uncomfortable to join a new club) , the Carnity off-road club is a friendly, not pushing, and what's very important, safety first - community. If you are hesitating, don't worry, just show up, you will not regret that you came. The day started with a safety-briefing. It might be long for some people, but certainly necassary for new joiners. When you start operating a vehicle/ machine or anything that might hurt yourself/ other people/ environment, it is important that there is an understanding of the individual who is participating and also important, that the group has an idea of what kind of person they are dealing with for the first time. A difference in: -nationality, -equipment, -experience + the new environment for a totally new bie, a briefing is the tool to bring all the heads together. I can only encourage such briefings. It might be boring for some and they might loose the interest (especially in the early morning where we are thinking of our soft bed and pillow). Even if the person only remembers a bit what was given during a briefing/ instruction/ a shared story or de-brief, this little bit is still something new he or she has learned. I just wanted to emphasise this part of the day, because I believe that there are people who think that such new-bie briefings are excessive, but keep up the good work marshallers, keep doing it. The drive itself was progressive, good learning curve, opportunities to play a bit. For the newbies there was the opportunity to practice with in seat instruction. Very good to build your confidence. The day ended with a social gathering in the shades to de-brief, share stories and introduce ourself a bit. My apologises that I only had Oreos to share :). I hope to see you soon, but with my work I rarely have a day off on a Friday (I requested this Friday off, just to join you). Let's see when I am lucky with the scheduling department.
  10. Hi, Driving a LC200, everything maintained. 2” lift. Pulled this week a few times friends of mine out of the sand, tow hooks are in good shape. Did a few desert drives last month, thats the only experience I have. I have a walkie talkie, the rest I still have to buy. What is the thread size of the off road flags? Tried to google, but can’t find it. Xaf
  11. Like this, but then a different size. if anybody knows where to try, please let me know.
  12. Thank you Frederic. Regarding the Off-road flag; My roofrail had a rubber, I removed it and it has a thread. Now I am looking for an "adapter" (no idea if this is the correct word), to screw it in and on the other side for example the AOR offroad flag. This way I don't have to use a bracket. I don't know the size/type of the thread in my roofrail. Any recommendation where I can try? I tried a Nuts and Bolt store, but they were not very helpful.
  13. Hi everybody, I re-activated my account. Finally I got a Friday off so I will join you with the absolute newbie drive. In the meanwhile I have been to the desert a few times. But I respect the system and will come at 05:00.
  14. Interested, but I have a dynamic schedule with work. The whole month July I wont’t be available on a Friday.
