This drive is organized in full compliance with the COVID19 guidelines. We expect every member that joins this drive to go through below information and strictly follow these guidelines in order not to jeopardize someone's health, and to ensure we can keep organizing these drives safely. MUST READ AND TOTALLY AGREE: COVID19 Precautions MUST READ AND TOTALLY AGREE: BAN POST Two Way Radio Guidelines Every Off-roader brings his own radio, programmed to the frequencies described in below advice topic. We will not share spare radios or program your radio on the drive. If you need assistance in programming the radio, post a topic on the Carnity website with your questions and we will help you out. Make sure your radio is fully charged. It will be your only way of communication while driving. Before buying, please carefully read below advice so you are informed properly on which model / cost / shops... No radio = No drive. It is an essential tool and you should make sure you bring it on every drive and learn/practice how to use it. Drive Details Level: Fewbie and Above When: 15 January 2021, Friday. Departure will be a little later, we will take a break in the area of Skydive, to refuel and eat something along the way, and will re-enter in Lisaili, to drive to our destination, somewhere between Solar Park and Qudra itself. We'll face all possible terrains, from sabkhas to technical dunes, from bowls play-areas to long range dunes. All skills will be applied, including criss-crossing, where possible. Meeting Point: https://maps.app.goo.gl/pfTiuuc7d9AMqRLr7 Type of Car: Any proper 4x4 with front and back tow hooks and 8-10 inches of ground clearance. Dear @Junaid120120, I sympathize with your situation, but it's our strict policy to ask all drivers to take an AN introduction to Carnity, before allowing them to join our convoy. At this moment I cannot make exceptions, which would be unfair to all other members, sometimes even experienced ones, who have abided by this policy. I hope you'll have the opportunity to join an AN drive soon.

Dear Desertnauts. In preparation for Saturday morning's drive, a quick note on the area we'll visit. As mentioned in the drive's presentation, Faqa is a bit of a challenging area, due to the presence of high dunes, rising into a plateau of cordons, surrounded by two large and long sabkhas, to its east and west. The foothills of this plateau, on both sides, are quite heavily dotted with trees, which benefit from the high aquifer. We'll start on the western side, which is also a bit more populated (locals seem to have set up even a Quads' camp), to cross the plateau, and descend on the other side, where we'll find a set of ling range dunes. From here we'll attempt to navigate some of these dunes, before finding our way, again, on top of the plateau, in its' southern reaches, and finally cross onto the sabkha which will eventually lead to the track to Solar Park. Due to heavy works taking place in the area (for the construction of the new phases of Solar Park) we may have to drive toward another track, which may require crossing a few more low, technical dunes: be ready for possible delays, and perhaps a bit of a longer drive, especially before exiting as close as possible to Solar Park's tarmac roads. Convoy order will be as follows: @Joe Biju Joseph will reacquaint himself with our deserts in Second Lead @Mike Kraher will follow in #3 @Baskaran P.R will be #4 @Salty3Arab at #5 @ZakWarah will take #6 @Abdul Rahman Abdul Kader is going to drive at #7 @Jeepie will provide her guidance and support at Center Forward @Thomas Varghese will follow at #9 @Tareq Ghosheh with the #10 spot @Osvaldo Porto is going to be our #11 driver @Harold Roberts will be #12 @varunmehndiratta at #13 @Dodi Syahdar will follow at #14, and @Niki Patel will Sweep the group into safety. Please remember to fill up your tanks, have your radios set on Carnity Channel 1 (446.006), carry with you a compressor (recommended if you do not wish to drive more then 20ks to the closest station), and most of all, to enjoy a stunning landscape, in this more secluded part of the Sharjah-Abu Dhabi-Dubai border area See you all on Saturday morning at 6:30 AM sharp.

Dear @Junaid120120, unfortunately everybody should take an Absolute Newbie drive, no matter his/her individual experience. It is an introduction to Carnity's approach, philosophy and requirements, as well as an opportunity to evaluate each member's skills within one of our convoys. Do your best to join an AN drive, if possible. Thanks a lot for understanding our policy.
-
Dear @Junaid120120, thanks for signing up for this drive. Yet, as you still have to take your Absolute Newbie Drive with Carnity, I cannot accept you this time. Please sign up for Friday morning Absolute Newbie drive with @Frederic, so you can receive a proper introduction to our Club, then you'll be able to sign up for Newbie drives from next week. Thanks a lot for the understanding. Hello @Thomas Varghese. Welcome to the drive...."On the other side". You are also a GO. See you Saturday.
-
Yes @Tareq Ghosheh. You may skip the Friday Absolute Newbie drive as no longer needed for you, and can join my drive, if you so choose, as your first drive of the weekend. From Wednesday, as for all Carnity members, it's possible to sign up for multiple drives, if spots are still available. For example, I see there are still 2 spots available on @Chaitanya D's Friday PM Newbie drive, so from Wednesday you may also register for that, if places are still available. Looking forward to seeing you.
-
Hi @Tareq Ghosheh. I am happy to say we have found a solution for you. As you have already taken a Masterclass 1 on 1 with Sri, we'll consider that as equivalent to an AN drive, so you're free to join any Newbie drive, having received all the necessary instructions. I have already signed you up for Saturday's drive. Please acknowledge your confirmation. Thanks a lot. PS. @Tareq Ghosheh you NO LONGER have to register for Friday's AN drive.
-
Dear @saifalblouki, as suggested by Gaurav, I have removed you from this drive, as after your AN drive this would be your second of the weekend: as per our policy, each driver who's already signed up for his first drive should be wait listed on his second drive, until a spot may open after Wednesday's deadline for reviewing the rosters. I will inform you if a spot opens up. Thanks for your interest. Dear @Tareq Ghosheh. Thanks for your introduction. I have added you to the WL, and will inform you if a spot opens up.

Chaitanya D has been promoted to Marshal level
Ale Vallecchi replied to Gaurav's topic in Off-Road Club's Announcements
Congrats @Chaitanya D. Extremely well deserved, and earned. You always have been very demanding of yourself, have been an avid student of all off-roading matters, and have absorbed as a sponge every bit of information encountered on your drives. DRIVE ON!! -
Dear @Tareq Ghosheh, thanks a lot for registering to the drive. I have noticed that you will be taking your Absolute Newbie drive on Friday, so this will be your second drive of the weekend. According to Carnity policy, as stated in the WhatsApp group where drives are notified, we ask each member to only sign up for one drive each weekend, and to request a place in the waiting list for any second drive he wishes to attend on the same weekend. This is to allow all members to have a shot at at least one drive per weekend. This is why I am temporarily removing you from this drive, and place you in its Waiting List, where you will be #6. Thanks a lot for understanding, and hope to see you Saturday.
-
Dear @saifalblouki. Have you already attended an Absolute Newbie drive with Carnity? If yes I can add you to this Newbie drive. If not, you will need to sign up for this weekend's drive with Marshal @Frederic, then you can join any Newbie drive from the following week. We require AN drives for any driver, even experienced ones, to illustrate our Club's rules and habits, and give an initial evaluation of each driver. Please let me know, and thanks for asking.
-
Hello @Harold Roberts. Would this be your second drive of the weekend? If yes, you'll be #2 in the WL. If not I will add you right away. Thanks. Hello @Thomas Varghese. You are currently #3 in the WL. I will reconfirm on Wednesday. Thanks. Hello @Goutam You are currently #4 in the WL. I will reconfirm on Wednesday. Thanks Hello @Ranjan Das. You are currently #5 in the WL. I will reconfirm on Wednesday. Thanks Hello @Niki Patel. You are currently #6 in the WL. I will reconfirm on Wednesday. Thanks
