  1. Thanks @Kailas for An exciting and fun day in the desert. Being in such a short convoy has its benefits and the first half was the evidence of it. i always struggle a bit in the 3rd quarter of drives due to a bit of fatigue, but today was another story altogether. only yesterday I was mentioning to @Chaitanya D & @Anish S that I had not had a recovery situation in like months. I definitely have mentioned twice may be three times. And I was served with instant karma in the form of two crests and a standing stuck one for a vey mention. I should have kept my mouth shut yesterday. thanks a lot to @MMansoor, @Daniel Yang and yourself @Kailas once again for all the effort you guys put in for my recoveries and for a great drive today.
  2. Thank you doc for a wonderful drive + camping. Loved every bit of it and looking forward to many more such exciting events. Hopefully next time it can be in a Friday night so that I don’t have to work remotely remote.
  3. Yes a good training ground for the lesser souls like me who are miserable in haggling.
  4. I see myself in the going list now. I did not put myself there, I will continue to assume I am in the waiting list for now, and be ready to vacate whenever someone comes across for their first drive of the week.
  5. As the limit is 50 - Is this drive part of the weekend drive limit or anyone can add themselves?
  6. I screw a manual tire pressure gauge to the tyres and deflate till it shows 10 psi, and after the Condensation effect is gone it settles at 12 psi. I don’t have to do any guesswork and don’t have to usually check back so it is slightly quicker and more precise IMO. Jeep TPMS sensors work fine with the Apex valves. As mentioned by @Ilya the gas station air pressure doesn’t work well with them. old one won’t work at all - if used they will only deflate the tires, but I have used newer gas station air chucks and found them to be workable, although you have to hold them at some specific angles. After the drives I usually pressure up a couple of psi over the recommended psi and in this case due to the compression of air by compressor, the air is hot and it will initially show higer psi but will soon cool down a couple of psi lower than initial reading.
  7. This is the work week for DIFC: Monday to Friday: 8:00 AM to 3:00 PM (no appointments will be scheduled during the Friday prayer time from 1-2 PM).
  8. This will be 2nd week of Camping + first time Driving for me this weekend. Doing it at Qudra area as a practice run along with @Gok Krish.
  9. Bumper do not take the load of the winch, it is the body that does all the lifting. bumper only there for the taking in a front hit in an accident. Your plastic bumper pulls nothing in case of recovery, it is the hooks which are bolted to the body that.
  10. Yes AOR is a metal one. It is made out of Aluminum, so not as strong as Rubicon bumper, and its hooks are decorative in nature - learnt that the hard way 🥺. You can install winch on a plastic bumper. I have seen once such Jeep and the winch dealer too confirmed that it can be installed on a plastic bumper and all that you need is a winch bracket. The winch bracket costs 1350 as I mentioned earlier. But the full metal bumper AOR one costs 2100. The reason you go with metal bumper because it has the cut out for the fairlead, in plastic bumper you have to do Jugaad.
  11. You don’t need a metal bumper. It can be installed on plastic bumper as well. Winch technically has its pun bracket. The bracket costs 1350 and the new AOR metal bumper that comes with winch bracket 2100.
  12. My fridge gives me free drinks next day when @Alain Canivet-Abikhalilforgets everything, oh wait that was me.
  13. Congratulations bro @Zed, did not realize you were not yet .
  14. @Niki you want to have a look at: https://www.zerobreeze.com/products/zero-breeze-mark-2?variant=29542713720934
  15. You may want to consider buying an external sealed lead acid battery and a AC charger to use for use for lighting. I have seen amazon suggesting when I was looking for buying LED lights alternatively I have seen Speedex selling the batteries, so may be you can look at car parts shop.
  16. The 4 and Half work week is for Govt Sector only and with an option to work from home on Fridays (i.e. 4 day work week!) In all likelihood Private sector will have 5 day work week including Fridays, i.e. Monday-Friday. Need to see how some traditional businesses that work 6 days with Friday off will deal with it. May be they will substitute Friday for Sunday or continue with just Firdays anyways.
  17. I worked Monday to Friday while I worked here in last 5 years anyways and was missing the Friday events in last few months after getting back to regular schedule (due to a pandemic hiccup it was Sunday to Thursday). I am quite happy about it. this is also an experiment as they are suggesting 4 and half day week which is going towards the new progressive norm of 4 day work week implemented in some Scandinavian countries. from Thursday-Friday to Saturday-Sunday it’s a great progress.
