@Zed, @Ashutosh Garg, @Tareq Al Turq, @Cha, @Bashar Beasha, @Jaro Tuzinsky, @Christian Andras, @Benjamin, @Arda Yagcioglu Due to some unavoidable circumstances, unfortunately I must cancel the drive tomorrow morning. I will be removing you all and cancelling the drive post. If interested @Frederic's FB+ still has few open slots, you may join. I apologize for the sudden cancelation. Hopefully we will see you all again sometime soon.

Good morning @Zed, @Ashutosh Garg, @Tareq Al Turq, @Cha, @Bashar Beasha, @Jaro Tuzinsky, @Christian Andras, @Benjamin. We will rock on Ch 2. We will meet at 0645 hrs. or earlier, to deflate and start at 0700 hrs. sharp. We will follow the below convoy order at start but please note that we will keep it fluid. Rest well for an intense drive tomorrow morning. PS: the model and level are pulled from my personal excel file so it could differ from what you bring to drive or call your ride or even the level you are at.

@Rafey Hashmi I have done Yellow Truck a couple of times. Once in FB (2020) convoy doing 101 km (GaiaGPS) and another time in a FB+ convoy (2021) (GaiaGPS) driving about 146 km. There was however a significant length of the drive done on a pilon track. Both times I carried 40l. For FB I didn’t fill till I reached the end point but for FB+ I did fill in 20l during lunch stop and remaining at the end. Note that in the desert I drive diligently conserving fuel, by keeping the auto stop-start on as well as switching off the car whenever we had any stoppages. This time around we will drive approximately 100-110 km through the desert without any pillion track. I would recommend that you carry a minimum of 20l of fuel. 40l fuel, however, is an ideal recommendation considering the inordinate delays that could happen in the desert and there won’t be any nearby fuel stations unlike here when we drive in Dubai. We will update the recommendation again when the track is done, and the convoys are near finalized. PS: the FB+ drive was longer since we had to recover a car from the drive, and it took about 40 km otherwise it would have been 100km drive as well.

I was actually hoping we’d do 30+ kmph moving avg speed, alas. The problem with Gaia GPS is if you stop for say 2-3 min or even a bit more and then start driving, it doesn’t count it as stopped time dragging down the overall moving average speed, as the time is not considered for as stopped. It starts to count as stopped but if you move it removes it from stopped.

Sweihan - Nagra Hill - Sweihan @Zed, @Patrick van der Loo, @Ashutosh Garg, @Tareq Al Turq, @Cha, @Bashar Beasha, @Jaro Tuzinsky, @Christian Andras, @Bjoern, @Benjamin Thank you all for signing up for the drive. For the last few drives my modus operandi has been, meet up and drive without much discourse about what we are going to do. My convoy planning has been limited to my second lead and perhaps #3 at most. The reason being that at this level the convoy members can manage at any level they are put at. Last time we drove in Sweihan we were only 4 members and I let the convoy order to be fluid. Fill in whatever position one gets a chance to, so that the conovy keeps moving. If one driver had a refusal, then they loop back into the convoy and keep driving, whichever position they get back into the convoy. But I found that Carnity discipline is very strongly embedded in all of us. After the first few min, the short convoy spontaneously decided on a convoy order and followed it till the end without breaking it. Frankly, I was very proud of the culture of discipline we have at Carnity and the strong sense of safe driving etiquette that comes along with it. We will deflate to start by 7:00 a.m. sharp, but keep in mind that the drive could be slightly longer than usual. After checking out a couple of play areas in the Sweihan we will drive towards Nagra hill and conquer it. We then will move south towards Old Lady dune but take a westward turn and go back to Sweihan. Just be aware that Sweihan and especially Nagara Hill; those places are a mess and are full of bouncy track infested desert area. Due to the dew-soaked wet sand the tracks are going to be pronounced and they don't get erased by the wind being made on sticky sand.

It was controlled chaos from the start and especially at the end, just before the exit. As I planned it was a 2-hour drive, with half an hour's break. What I loved most about this drive was we conquered all the Big Dunes & Bowls that came in our way. Iftar Bowl ✅, Super Bowl ✅, all big dunes ✅. The sand was wet as if it rained the previous night, but I guess it is going to be like that in the foreseeable future due to the dew during the winter. The upside of the wet sand is it makes climbing dunes a tad bit easier, the downside is all the vibration while driving on the churned-up tracks, there is no escape from that hell. Thank you @Jona, @Tareq Al Turq, @Amir Amiri, @Joseph Raju, @Cha, @Imteeaz, @Pacific and @Sunil Mathew for your participation in the drive. I hope you enjoyed the drive. Gaia Track
