  1. Congratulations @M.Seidam, it is truly wonderful & definitely deserving to see your promotion.
  2. I and @Zed were at Swihan today. Please note these words of caution. 1. There was dense fog starting from Dubai till about 12km before Swihan. I was on E611 till I reached E75 truck road. The visibility was about 200-300 ft and I could safely drive about 85-90kmph only and not more. Trucks were not plying on the road and were parked by the side. 2. As soon as I reached E75 which is in Abu Dhabi, I got messages from AD police saying that the speed limit is 80. Because of dense fog and it being single road I did not drive over 75 and some times even less as visibility was quite bad. Again there were no tucks only few small commercial vehicles. 3. I continued to drive at about 75ish KMPH on E16 which is a 140kmph road even after fog was lifted till I reached Swihan because in Abu Dhabi you will get fines if you cross 80 if you have received fog warning messages. In Dubai, you would not get warnings and you should have issues but, as per the rules you should be below 80 kmph. 4. My planned time was 1:30 hours to reach the destination but the speed limits added about 20 extra minutes to the commute time. So plan accordingly. DRIVE SAFE. Edit: tagging all so that you will receive emails. @Amr Aydin, @Alexanderrr, @ASAD., @Waqas Parvez, @Vaibhav,@DP1011 , Deepak wrangler, @Tom B, @Anoop Nair, @Simon Dawood PS: while it might not be relevant to our drive, but there were crazy number of other clubs and crazier drivers at the meeting point.
  3. Congratulations @Ashutosh Garg on your promotion to Fewbie Plus promotion.
  4. Congratulations @Gurcharan Mehta on your promotion. well done and enjoy your new level drives.
  5. Congratulations @Amr Aydin on your promotion, enjoy the drives.
  6. only thing that needs to be changed in this one is to add Bumpers for Desert driving.
  7. One could plan to camp the previous night. I have to start at around 4 am and wake up at 3 in the morning. It is an hour of lost sleep for me, not too much though.
  8. Nearest Petrol Station: Al Saad 854 25 km from starting point, adds a round trip of 50 KM but post fill up you have 25 km drive to the meeting point and adds 32 min to the time to reach plus filling time. On the way Petrol Station: Sweihan 960 40 km from starting point, is on the way and is 40 km from starting point and adds 10 min to the drive time plus filling time. So Swihan it is. Here's the time it takes from my home:
  9. You get Nirvana, when you do it right, 😇 but if not, then all hell breaks loose 👹. Because of the advanced level of the drive, it is especially important to follow the guidelines on safe driving. @Vaibhav I missed mentioning you in my post, but the acknowledgments are in order with thanks for your support.
  10. What I did wrong here is that I was a bit fast coming on to the ridge and did not control the vehicle properly and stopped, exactly what I was preaching should not be done.
  11. I had two crests this weekend, starting with this one.
  12. Thank you @GauravSoni for a wonderful drive on Saturday morning. It was a fanatic start to the weekend. A wonderful support by @Davie Chase at the back. It was a great show by all, and we learned a bit of criss crossing apart from tackling technical terrain. @TT_Dubai you were fantastic at the 2nd lead position. @Jad Moussalli it was the first time I saw you having a couple of refusals ever, otherwise a great drive. @Emanuel - you had above average stucks for the day, but it is all part of the game. @Jaro Tuzinsky & @Ashutosh Garg you drove well on the day - but I would advise you to practice a bit on the techniques of criss crossing, on the first criss crossing where Jad had a refusals I noticed you came in hot on the other side. @Brett Eicher good to see your red jeep chugging along without any issues on the day. @Batuhan Kulac driving first time with you, great to see a G Wagon in the desert.
  13. Thank you @varunmehndiratta for exhilarating drive from start to finish. Every peak we conquered was an experience in itself. Fast Paced and exiting, it made my day. It has been some time since I have driven in such an intense drive and it definitely made my day. I was exhausted by the end of the drive but in a relaxing way. A big shout out to @MMansoor, @Waqas Parvez & @Zixuan Huang - Charlie for all the support. Sad to see @Zixuan Huang - Charlie exit early. Hope you will be back soon. A great drive by all, and the mid drive was the best when there was complete radio silence yet we all marched stead fast under the leadership of @varunmehndiratta. Good to see you all, @Morshedi, @Ahmad Shaker, @Fabien Monleau, @ASAD., @DP1011 , Deepak wrangler & @Anoop Nair after a long while. @Imteeaz, once again congratulations on your promotion and you did great as usual on the drive.
