  1. I used to use the external mics I have couple of them but not using them anymore after I was told that the my voice from those was not very clear. If you want you can take one from me to try. They are comfortable, you put the Radio on your waist belt on the side and fix the mic on your shirt collar and more comfortable to work with. These days I just keep them in the cup holders and pick up whenever I need to announce something. But at the end buddy you are overthinking about it. There is no split second urgencies that need to be declared. You can take a second or two to collect the radio from the cup holder and announce. Also driving with one hand is not as bad as you think it is. For me I tend to over stear when driving with both hands, and on high speed technical drives - especially the ones you mentioned with @Kailas I drive with just my right hand, holding on to the A pillar handle with my left hand on my Jeep.
  2. One of the valves was a bit rough to come out before also - but it used to come out nonetheless but now two of them are not budging. May be a good clean after getting them loose and a bit of WD40 should do the trick. Unfortunately my ARB hose failed in the same drive as well. The female end of the hose is stuck at open position - again due to sand and it is not closing. Ordered a new one and then will go back to dealing with the Apex Valves.
  3. Wishing everyone a very happy new year. driving with my friends at Carnity was the best thing that was happening to me in 2021 and hope it continues in 2022 as well.
  4. In my Sunday drive I two of the 4 valves were stuck, and I could not pull the gate cover to dump air out of the tires. As I did not want to use any blunt tools to pull them out so as not to put permanent marks, I had to use a valve stem remover to deflate. The previous night @Desert Wrangler had taken the car out during rains and the tires were obviously were submerged in water. I am not sure if that had anything to do with the stuck valves. Has anyone else face such issue? Want to know if use of WD40 will have any problem with any of the mechanisms of the device or the rubber and or plastic covers?
  5. Thanks for a great drive at Al Fayah @Vanessa8580, I enjoyed a lot in the passenger seat with @Desert Wrangler (Sita) and also the couple of recoveries. The weather was great and I loved zoning out in the long uninterrupted drive segments - it was tranquil. Hope @Melenany car gets sorted out soon, I am pretty sure he had a great time in the sweep. It was @Desert Wrangler's first drive after the absolute newbie drive with you and I happy to see that she drives a lot better than that I did at the same level. I had a couple of problems with air this morning. Two Apex Valves decided it they don't want to work, as I could not pull them at all. And after the drive the ARB hose would not work air up my tires. Thanks to @Osama M who lent me his hose and waited for me to fill up.
  6. Congratulations bro @Karthik Raptor well done. See you many more drives and camps.
  7. Thanks @Kailas for An exciting and fun day in the desert. Being in such a short convoy has its benefits and the first half was the evidence of it. i always struggle a bit in the 3rd quarter of drives due to a bit of fatigue, but today was another story altogether. only yesterday I was mentioning to @Chaitanya D & @Anish S that I had not had a recovery situation in like months. I definitely have mentioned twice may be three times. And I was served with instant karma in the form of two crests and a standing stuck one for a vey mention. I should have kept my mouth shut yesterday. thanks a lot to @MMansoor, @Daniel Yang and yourself @Kailas once again for all the effort you guys put in for my recoveries and for a great drive today.
  8. Thank you doc for a wonderful drive + camping. Loved every bit of it and looking forward to many more such exciting events. Hopefully next time it can be in a Friday night so that I don’t have to work remotely remote.
  9. Yes a good training ground for the lesser souls like me who are miserable in haggling.
  10. I see myself in the going list now. I did not put myself there, I will continue to assume I am in the waiting list for now, and be ready to vacate whenever someone comes across for their first drive of the week.
  11. As the limit is 50 - Is this drive part of the weekend drive limit or anyone can add themselves?
  12. I screw a manual tire pressure gauge to the tyres and deflate till it shows 10 psi, and after the Condensation effect is gone it settles at 12 psi. I don’t have to do any guesswork and don’t have to usually check back so it is slightly quicker and more precise IMO. Jeep TPMS sensors work fine with the Apex valves. As mentioned by @Ilya the gas station air pressure doesn’t work well with them. old one won’t work at all - if used they will only deflate the tires, but I have used newer gas station air chucks and found them to be workable, although you have to hold them at some specific angles. After the drives I usually pressure up a couple of psi over the recommended psi and in this case due to the compression of air by compressor, the air is hot and it will initially show higer psi but will soon cool down a couple of psi lower than initial reading.
  13. This is the work week for DIFC: Monday to Friday: 8:00 AM to 3:00 PM (no appointments will be scheduled during the Friday prayer time from 1-2 PM).
