  1. Post-Drive Report Thank you everyone for being ready on time! 🙌 We met at the briefing point as scheduled, got organized quickly, and were moving within 15 minutes — great start to the afternoon! We entered the Murquab desert via sand tracks and navigated through some technical terrain. The main challenge was the bushy patches, but we had some nice crests to ride along which gave us a break and added variety to the drive. Our first play area was a lot of fun — hill climbs, side sloping, and ridge riding kept the energy up and gave everyone a chance to enjoy and practice their skills. On the way to the next section, we crossed a sabkha and took the long way around due to a group in the middle, possibly doing falconry or something similar. The second play area had decent terrain for layered navigation — up and down hill climbs with some technical lines to follow. At the next sabkha, we took a short break. It was here that @Warbs reported a mechanical noise from the front left of his Jeep. After some troubleshooting, it appeared to be related to the front differential when in 4Hi, but not in 2WD. We decided to exit him from the drive, which worked out well since we were already heading toward the pylon track to Qudra. He was able to continue safely to his exit point. We then entered the Qudra Secret Dunes — a beautiful stretch of mostly clean dunes that allowed for some excellent sidies and ridge riding with a nice fast pace. Everyone drove really well, maintaining good pace and safe spacing. ✅ No stucks, and only a handful of refusals — all quickly assisted by @Mike M. 💪. 🙏 Big thanks to: @Michael asir as our Second Lead, keeping the right amount of distance and time to react to last second course corrections advised. @Mike M. in Center Forward, for assisting refusals and keeping the middle strong. @J-P L in Sweep, for watching the rear and ensuring we stayed together. 👏 Great drive, great teamwork, and great fun. Looking forward to seeing you all again soon in the sand!

  6. We’re organising a scenic and moderately challenging off-road drive from Murquab to the Secret Dunes of Qudra, starting westward before moving northwest. This route offers a great mix of terrain—perfect for those looking to build confidence in the dunes while still enjoying a bit of variety. We’ll begin with soft, rolling dunes that are ideal for warming up and getting into the rhythm. As we progress west, the dunes gradually increase in size and complexity, offering a fun challenge without being too technical. Around the midway point, we will encounter some sabkha flats—likely where we will take a break, depending on the conditions and timing. As we head into Qudra's Secret Dunes, expect more varied terrain with scattered bushes and camel grass, until we see the open dunes ahead of us for the finale part of our planned drive. Looking forward to seeing you out there for a safe and thrilling desert adventure! 7. There will be another Friday afternoon drive this Frinday if you can make it
  8. @vinayak n had a stuck on this ridge. We made quick work of this and moved on.
  9. Double stucks. @Mei Ling was able to self-recovery because she was patient and able to move just a little bit at at time. Well done. @Fabien Monleau was orginally moving into position to recover Mei Ling and got stuck. He shoveled for a bit then had a pull from behind by Ale just enough to dislodge him and he self-recovered the rest of the way.
  10. Post-Drive Report – Lisali to Qudra Secret Dunes What a fantastic afternoon out in the sands! First off, a big thank you to everyone for being ready and present for the briefing right on time — it’s always a great sign of a committed convoy and sets the tone for a smooth drive. A special shoutout to @Ale Vallecchi for joining us today. This drive was particularly meaningful for me, as it marked my first solo lead drive since being promoted to Expert, with a marshal joining the convoy. It felt full circle having Ale there — he was the marshal on my very first Carnity drive back on December 31, 2021. What an incredible journey it's been to reach Expert level, and I truly wouldn’t have wanted to do it with any other club. Carnity has been a cornerstone of my off-road growth, and today was a proud milestone. The drive plan unfolded exactly as intended. We began in Lisali, cruising through fast-flowing tracks and gentle dunes that gradually built in size and complexity. The convoy maintained excellent spacing and a solid pace throughout. The first and last thirds of the drive offered fun ridges and playful side sloping, while the middle section challenged us with a technical patch — which everyone navigated impressively. Massive thanks to our support team: @J-P L and @Fabien Monleau in center forward — great job keeping the convoy tight and safe. Ale in sweep — always reassuring to have your eyes at the back. @Michael asir in second lead — you responded to my course corrections with precision and calm, well done! A huge thank you to Fabien and his winch for saving the day during a tricky recovery. @vinayak n found himself in a nasty pocket complicated by a PVC pipe overhead, but Fabien made quick work of it, allowing us to exit a bit early and with smiles all around. We wrapped up in the Qudra Secret Dunes, a stunning area with golden sands and scenic beauty — the perfect place to reinflate and share stories from the drive. Wishing you all a great weekend and looking forward to seeing you on the next adventure! Here is our drive track and stats. We covered 45 kms across a nice elevation profile. Well done!

  14. We begin our adventure in Lisali, a quiet desert community. Heading southwest, we traverse the fast-flowing tracks and gentle dunes that gradually increase in size and complexity. As we progress, the terrain becomes more technical, with sharper slip faces and tighter dune formations. Continuing onward, we navigate through a series of ridge lines and cross-dune sections before navigating to a sabkha or two to take us towards our prized destination. Approaching the final stretch, we enter the Qudra Secret Dunes area, known for its golden sand, playful terrain, and scenic beauty. This marks the end of our drive, where we gather to reinflate and share some storis of our drive. 😄 MUST READ AND COMPLY Environmental Policy Offroad Flag Guideline Two Way Radio Guideline Off road Driving Etiquette's Emergency details for all off-roaders Off Road Driving - Roles & Responsibilities DRIVE DETAILS Level: Fewbie and above Meeting time: 3:00 PM (SHARP - Without any exceptions) Meeting Point: https://maps.app.goo.gl/y8o9cQJwy8zerF2A7 Type of Car: Any proper 4x4 with front and back tow hooks and 8-10 inches of ground clearance.
