  1. Congrats @RiadJL. Enjoy the faster pace and experience. See you on the sands soon.
  2. Congrat's @Cesar Chacon. Enjoy the faster pace though that comes with greater focus and safety needed. See you on the sands soon!
  3. Well done @Cesar Chacon! Enjoy the faster pace and challenges.
  4. Welcome @tito_mewen to Carnity!
  5. Congrats @Siddharth Sai G on the new level. Enjoy the fastest pace and challenges.
  6. Thanks @Luke K P for smoothing off the peak for the rest of us. 🤣
  7. Much learning and experience on my first Support drive. This will be a very memorable induction indeed. Used both shovels and my kinetic rope today. Thanks @JeromeFJ for leading the drive and for your assistance. @Gaurav Soni, @Mehmet Volga for supporting and @Luke K P in S/L. You have a great memory @Gaurav Soni. That hat-trick in the same pocket a year or two back on @Davie Chase's drive still makes me shake my head. Today I was able to laugh about it. Have a great weekend everyone and see you next time!
  8. Wow, 471 drives between the convoy leaders tomorrow. Bring lots of questions! 😀
  9. Congratulations @Carl Stanley. It was good to meet you last week and happy to see your progress.
  10. Thrilled about my promotion to the Support Team in our off-road club! I am deeply grateful to the leadership for accepting my application and placing their trust in me. This new role allows me to assist our marshals and other Support Team members and guide newer club members during our exhilarating drives. I am excited about the opportunity to grow and develop into a highly effective team member, contributing to the success and safety of our adventures and of our club. Thank you for this incredible opportunity! I'd also like to thank the marshals and support team members from nowadays and into the past that have helped me grow and learn, and thanks to all the friends and club members I've made here for contributing to my journey over the years. We have a great club, with awesome leadership, marshals, and support team to enjoy our drives with in a safe and fun manner. There is a new patch of sand ahead of me now and I'm embracing the challenge. There have been a number of inspiring comments to this announcement from Gaurav, for which I'm deeply appreciative of. Thank you! See you on the sands!
  11. Thanks @Mike M.. Option 1 is under perfection at the moment and I'm getting close to being at one with the twilight zone. The tip for Option 2 is something I'm going to try this weekend.
  12. Great question and the subject of many discussions on the sand and here in the forums. Completely agree with @Zubail and concur that @Frederic has mentioned this a lot in the past. From my experience, my previous Pajero, 3.5L 2013, would not stop or lose power in 1st. She'd keep going, which was great. The White Rhino, 3.8L 2020 does lose power at the very top and I've learned on taller dunes to ease off the gas just a bit to prevent that from happening.
  13. Another fantastic drive @Frederic. It is always a pleasure to be your S/L. Along with a terrific line-up of support from @Imran Asghar, @Zed, @Dodi Syahdar, and @Srikumar. It was a pleasure to meet you Sri, after so much time with the club. Looking forward to driving on one of your drives soon. I had our newest club member behind me, @Abhishek Chikara. Well done on your first official drive with us. You drove well and controlled your descent nicely on the way down some of those steep drops. You also had watched well your prep videos because you got yourself inflated without issue. Positive (Red) first then Negative (Black) next. Reverse for disconnecting. @Carl Stanley got a tip on disconnecting ABS and traction control for his Pajero by pulling out the relay. This will give some additional control over your car next time. Frederic wrote about this here: Have a great week ahead and see you next weekend.
  14. @Frederic wondering if we might get a chance to replicate this scene tomorrow with our 18 car convoy.
  15. For those coming via the E66 Al Ain Dubai Road and haven't travelled on it recently, there is a detour at exit 29 so add about 10 mins to your travel time tomorrow. I found this out 2 weekends ago. Luckily I had the time to spare. Go to the round about and come back and then get back onto the E66. Easy.
  16. Hey @Stumpy, would love to hear how you did this.
