  1. okay i know im a little late, apologies for that but it seems i shall be making the AD drive tomorrow so i'll be dropping out of this one, i'll see you on the next one @Chaitanya D
  2. @Chaitanya D i may have to drop out of this drive to make it to the Abu Dhabi one tomorrow, not sure i'll have the energy for two drives in a day and i'd rather not risk cancelling in the last second, i'll be sure to update my RSVP before 6pm.
  3. Hi guys, since i've just got my promotion i'd love to enter this drive but first i need to get my test done, will the sign up remain open till the time i get my test result?
  4. YEEHAAWWW!! thank you very much cant wait to learn some more things from everyone!
  5. Oh wow...that's a lot to digest...uuuh in this case it looks like @Paul Zeitoun is in need of a drive. I'll stick to @Chaitanya D's drive (good driving with you again man, ninja in a tank on the desert) , i dont think Sharjah will disappear any time soon. @Thomas Varghese thanks for trying man but in this I'm thinking that perhaps i'll just pay it forward this time and see you friday afternoon @Shehab Alawadhi I'll see you on the next one *lets go of floating door in the middle of cold ocean* Perhaps i'll get my promotion soon too and shall join you although this level of optimism is unprecedented on my part.
  6. Well im just happy to drive in the desert but i'd have loved to give Sharjah another go considering my trouble last time.
  7. you'll hear me weeping on the radio every time i need to speak "grey TJ....*SOB SOB SOB*.....misses Shehab...i mean.....refusal."
  8. My excitement levels are at their peak!!! The previous moniker of sea to mountain implies that we might pass over a salt plain or sand with salt water in the area? just checking since i hadn't planned on cleaning the underside of my car this week but that might change if we're to encounter and of that dreaded Sodium Chloride. Additionally, since we're entering a more mountainous areas would we not need over-landing gear such as highlift jacks and winches and maybe even diff lockers to get over slippery bits? or will we do fine without those in this instance? 7am confirmed! Dear @DANIEL NOGUEIRA Do you by any chance own a gym?
  9. And here i see a solution, feed my baby TJ lots of veggies so it grows into a big JT. Alternatively, drive more. XD
  10. Oh right and not to forget @syed salman raza's donation of headlights that i'd actually been saving up for to get for a while now since the stock TJ lights were made for a different era. Thank you very much again for these, i've already begun polishing them and getting ready to install them, hopefully you'll see them on the next time we meet
  11. Those little play areas were a big bump in difficulty for me since i had thought i was already pushing the car quite a but to get over some dunes on my previous drives, there's even dashcam footage of me shouting "GIVE ME FIRST GEAR!!!" hoping the PCM would hear me...now i think i know thanks to you that i need to get more involved to get everything i want from my amazing tuk tuk. Thanks for the great 1 to 1 lessons @Rahimdad and for letting the engine breathe a little like it's meant to and thanks @Wrangeld for taking care of me both this time and our last time together, now i just need to learn to listen my car and GIT GOOD as we used to say in the good ol' Halo days. See you guys on the next one
  12. AH the coveted sweep position, the best thing about it being you can somewhat deviate from the normal path unlike the center where you have keep things consistent for the guys down back, despite the rougher terrain i could spend all day there. Besides my usual guests are all photographers and convoys look best from the back @Wrangeld how does one guarantee this position for themselves as often as possible?
  13. looking at the wait list i believe i owe you and @Wrangeld a beer, or whatever equivalent you prefer.
  14. I owe an apology @Wrangeld and to everyone that was on the waiting list...i hadn't charged my phone properly and my alarm didn't ring to wake me up for the drive.....im very Sorry.
  15. @Chaitanya D @Frederic Thanks guys, i think i'll do like you said and start at the absolute newbie points in Al Qudra, got more photographers with me again so they want to get shots of the sky Any recommendations on navigating ourselves through the area? although we wont try to go too deep i reckon, just enough to escape the noise of trucks and lights of the city.
  16. Hello, Since I'm still 2 drives away from making into to Fewbie level i don't have any Carnity drives to join this weekend, presumably because some people are taking some time off and others just went to Liwa, this is fine except i'd love to go out anyway. Anyone know any newbie friendly activities where i can take like 3 cars out and do some stuff? looking to do some camping over night if possible and as safely as possible. Doesn't have to be dune bashing or a desert drive necessarily, just looking to venture into the great outdoors.
  17. @Frederic Any chance we'll get an afternoon newbie drive as well? I've unfortunately got work friday morning
