  13. Hello @Emmanuel and welcome to Carnity @Super Safari Girl! So, I double checked just now and I stand corrected as in the Patrol SS there is no indicator when 4Lo is engaged, however when you shift to 4Lo the VDC light turns on, this tells you the car is in 4Lo. When you shift back to 4H, the VDC light goes off. Just in case it helps: for off-road driving is advisable to disable VDC, as well as ABS and Air Bags (SRS). Hope this helps!
  14. @shu yang - most likely you will have to disconnect the fuse for SRS System (Supplemental Restraint System). That's what I do in my Y61, just be careful to turn off the engine and remove the car key before removing and before putting back the fuse. Hope this helps.
  15. Hi @Ivan Pironi this can be done by any garage, there are many to choose from, do an online search for offroad garage and you will get a list, give them a call to inquire. Prior to installing the switch I used to remove fuses, but in the case of my car, when I removed the ABS fuse I was then not able to disable VDC, which I think Ford calls "ESC" (Electronic Stability Control). This situation was resolved when the kill switch was installed. All the best!
  16. Hi @Ivan Pironi, a usual approach is to install a "kill switch", but do some research about. I installed one in my Patrol Y61, works well. @Watteau and @Shehab Alawadhi both drive F150s, I am sure they can provide a much better advice. Best regards!
  17. Congratulations @Ahab Shamaa @Francois Germishuys @Ilya @Christian Andras @Craig Finlayson @Jorge Stepniak Felippe @Kalahari @Shaaz Sha and @Tero Vallas, you are setting the bar high and that is great!
  18. Thank you Richard @Wrangeld - Look forward to the drive as I've done this route with you back in January.
  19. Hi @Rory Ashman Regarding the radio, please refer to this article in Carnity. If you need it soon, I am sure you can find one in Dragon Mart. I use two radios, Baofeng (primary) and Crony (spare), both are common brands used in UAE. With regards to the flag, you can find one in ACE, Speedex, Adventure HQ and even in offroad garages. I think I've seen flags in a small shop in Ras Al-Khor located in a service road (google map reference: https://goo.gl/maps/fx6NwY7doGXaA3HH6) Best regards
  20. @Anish S - Apologies, it won't be possible to attend the drive, I am dropping from the RSVP list. Hopefully we shall meet another time. Wish you and all those who attend a fun and safe drive.
  21. Gadget envy! 😆 This is my humble system: 1. Deflate: (a) JT Brooks deflators, (b) sunblock lotion if afternoon drive 😅 2. Calibrate after deflate and during drive: ARB low air pressure gauge (analog) 3. Inflate: (a) on board twin-piston ARB compressor, (b) 4L ARB tank, (c) Power Tank Inflator (picture attached, works well and is reasonably precise), (d) sunblock lotion if morning drive ☀️ I concur though with @Ahab Shamaa in that the 4L tank does not really speed inflating up, but what to do, it's installed already 🙄 Wish list, but will not acquire because space in SWB patrol is limited, a CO2 tank (Power Tank or Smittybilt) and APEX deflators. Apart from an occasion when I was shamefully late to a drive, I try to be as early as possible to have sufficient time to deflate the tires and flag-up. Heat is indeed an issue, difficult to get used to, but is okay.
  22. Hi @Frederic, not a problem and concept understood and no headache luckily 😅. The reason for my questions is that I program my radio using CHIRP, and while I was updating the .csv file I noticed the TStep value was different for Channel 5. I will keep 6.25. Thanks!
  23. @Frederic TStep for Channel 5 was 12.5, will the new channels have TStep 6.25, 12.5, or any of those two values? Thanks!
