  1. Fabulous drive @Wrangeld I really enjoyed myself and as usual, I learnt as much from watching others difficulties as I did dealing with my own. Your calm leadership style I am sure helped the confidence of the newbies and lowered stress levels all around. If you want to drive my Gadgero at any stage to assess my modifications, you are more than welcome. See you on the next one! Thanks to @Foxtrot Oscar for keeping our tails safe and a special mention to @Watteau as the most patient caring mother hen I have ever driven behind, well done sir!
  2. Make a lot of noise and get beached? (JUST JOKING GUYS)
  3. Mine is oiled and I got the cleaning kit as well (contains cleaner and the ‘red’ oil) I have absolute confidence in K&N and have used them many times in both 2 and 4 wheel vehicles.
  4. For those who are interested, this is the K&N filter model correct for the Pajero standard air box. I highly recommend it, the performance gain was very noticable and the fuel economy increase substantial.
  5. Thank you @Vanessa8580 for a fantastic morning drive in a beautiful spot. Great pace, enough challenges to keep us rookies on our toes and a nice little lesson on sorting pop-outs. Great work as second lead @Anish S I'd happily follow your tracks any day. Top job again @Mehmet Volgaas tail gunner. We started with 8 and finished with 8, job done. I apologise for my party trick, you have to be pretty good to get two pop-outs at the same time. Next time, I'll try for two pop-outs and an engine fire at the same time lolol.
  6. Looks really good! Are those Geolandar A/T G015's? If so, what pressure can you safely run them down to? 12?
  7. Thanks Ale, it was a challenging drive for us newbies. I for one learned quite a bit due to your instruction/demonstrations. I have to thank Mehmet again for coaching me out of my stuck. See you all again soon.
  8. Great drive in a beautiful part of the world. Thanks Chaitanya for leading a tight team. Again I learnt a lot and had a heap of fun. Of interest to Pajero owners, I put in a K&N filter this week and my fuel consumption for offroad halved. It cost 313 aed but the extra power alone made it worthwile. Recommended.
  9. Just checked Zed, my 'E' is yellow with yellow script on a green field. New this month, the app lists my vaccination dates along with alll of my previous test results.
  10. If you have the Al Hosn app with the yellow 'E' can you access Abu Dhabi without need for test?
  11. Totally agree with Gaurav. I would be wary of a car that has only done 5k a year (on average), here where 30k a year is normal, I'd be happy with a 6 year old car that had done 120km. Just sayin'... I hope the owner gave it a bloody good run now and then.
  12. Update: 2016 Pajero SWB, front bashplate fitted. Second drive with Carnity March 26. 24 degrees at start and up to 40 degrees celsius by end of drive, no stucks or refusals, used Tiptronic shift exclusively (2nd and 3rd gears only) No overheating at all.
  13. Thank you Vanessa and Islam, I had a fantastic day and the first 'clean' round of my career😂. The Gajero was flawless with her new bashplates and 2 inch lift kit (thanks Icon) now if only I could get better than 44 litres per 100 km life would be good... Lovely to meet my new offroad buddies Gautam and Tim, Gautam driving the family Pajero was perfect for me to follow (anywhere the big bus could go, the little Gajero could follow) and I raised many a smile watching Tim plow the sand with his 300 thousand dirham shovel (at one stage I saw the nose wings go deep and I thought he was going to have to switch off his vibrating, massaging, leather captain chair THAT'S VENTILATED and concentrate!) Great day and looking forward to the next one already🤙
  14. That page confuses me. My old 3.0 4 spd SWB used to hum along at 140 and my newer 3.8 5 spd SWB is even smoother.
  15. It was an absolute newbie drive so I'm not sure how relevant my feedback is but for what it's worth, I used 2nd for the soft/uphill/turning parts and 3rd for everthing else (3.8 litre/5 speed)
  16. First desert drive in my 2016 SWB today. Transmission overheat alarm sounded during a self recovery and again when in convoy. I stopped using D and went to Tiptronic, alarm went away.
