Jeepie!! Say it ain't so... 😱
I still remember my first drive with you. You were sweeping a night drive in Pink Rock and just seeing a simple Wrangler with no crazy kit and a female lead was so empowering. I told stories about it to everyone I knew. In a world filled with crazy kits, you were showing us all up.
From leading me ridge after ridge through Tawi Nizwa, the momentous all-day caravan with Ale (where tales of how much more of a badass you are came out), and finally the Lisailli jaunt for Christmas, I've been lucky to be a part of your convoys. It's a weird fact that of the three pop-outs I've had, you were there on two of them.
It's been an absolute pleasure hearing your stories, learning about your motorcycles, and being a part of your convoys. In an activity laden beyond limit with men, you were an inspiration to so many women who I'm sure joined your drives. And vicariously, through me (and I'm sure many others), we've told about you to our partners & friends on how they too can be here in the calm vastness of the desert snaking through in our serpentine convoys. But most of all as a 'driver', you were an inspiration to me that it is not the car (not pegging down your car) but instead the driver that shows the ultimate skill in maneuvering a machine. For those lessons, thank you.
You leave behind a void that we will find hard to fill. Good luck and may we cross paths in the sands again someday.
