  1. @Frederic @JeromeFJ- it’s times like these, I wish I’d paid heed to my parents, when they were pleading me to study harder 😂 #younerds🤓
  2. @Bravoecho How dark is your cabin? There is very little active useful information on my dinky little LCD readout save total ODO, Trip A, Trip B and a clock that my beater Casio is milliseconds more precise at. As for the speedometer, RPM and fuel gauges, they are all inversely designed with white markers and red needles/hands to aid visibility. It might be time to see an ophthalmologist instead if you're squinting at these gauges. 😎
  3. @MisterPoet - most older cars do not have their LCD displays backlit if the headlights are not on. My 2021 Nissan Patrol Y61 officially ended production in 2016 and then continued in selective countries in the Middle East & Australia. Even though my car is technically from 2021, it hasn't been meaningfully updated in over six years. My LCD cluster also doesn't light up unless I turn on my headlight. European & North American spec'd cars usually had daytime running lights regulation especially due to inclement weather conditions and pedestrian safety. This meant that many automakers in the European and North American markets would have cars that had light-sensors which would automatically turn on headlights in dark environments. When I lived in the US in 2006, even my Civic had auto-headlights that honestly annoyed the hell out of me because there was just no reason to keep them running when the skies just got a little bit grey. Imagine driving with oncoming headlights throughout the day. Over time, this was replaced by smaller Daytime-running-lights altogether which found a more elegant and less bothersome use of the primary headlight. If you do not have a European or North American spec automobile, the chances of your car having these features in the mid 2000s is unlikely as these regulations did not all come into effect everywhere at the same time. I've tried to pull an image of a Land Cruiser GXR 2013 from image search, and this is what I've found: If your cluster looks exactly like this, and you're referring to the little LCD readout that has ODO information on it, this will not turn on during the day unless your headlights are on. There is no defect in your car.
  4. Given the 5am start and that we'll be doing the first 53 km from Ghayati on tarmac, I think it's probably wise to not venture too far in for camping and inflate again in the morning. I'm thinking I'll just park on a side-street and catch some zzzs in the car. Also, given this epic journey, I think it's only fit we have an epic soundtrack to fill our cabins. 5. @lucas amat - good to see you pushing through with your Liberty after that "extreme" newbie drive in Lisailli. Enjoy the new level!
  6. ...and still not know which "diff" is in their car 🤣
  7. Welcome, @Parliament! Your goal should be to get to sweep as soon as you can, so our marshals don't see you and you can drive your jailbreak like you stole it. Catch you on a drive soon.
  8. @M.Seidam - he fell asleep during the pre-takeoff safety instructions. Also, thank you for only posting issues of Toyota drivers 😛
  9. Finally! Can't wait for when the BlackBeast goes treasure hunting in Little Sweihan 🏴‍☠️
  10. Get ready for tub-thumping madness with the FB+ level. Congratulations @Benjamin 💥
  11. @Benjamin, if you've been out to the desert in the last few days (since the rains lashed the country), then chances are there's been a ton of sticky sand & mud stuck to the underside of your car. My recommendation, and as @Looper has suggested earlier, just get it cleaned from time to time. After driving in muddy conditions, getting the undercarriage cleaned is even more crucial. I learned this the hard way because while I would take my car for "body washes" in the first 10 or 12 drives, they would never wash the undercarriage. 15 drives later, when I finally did an undercarriage wash, the team at the car wash had to use a ton of elbow grease & kerosene to loosen the sand & mud that had caked onto the undercarriage components. Hence, just like you should clean out your air filter after 3 to 4 drives, make it a point to have your undercarriage pressure washed after every 4 to 5 drives.
  12. Maybe the other one felt suffocated and wanted to break the shackles... P.S. I don't have it, but good luck bringing them back...
