  1. Hi @Gaurav, hi all, thank you so much for leading us. It was my first trip with my new transmission after an 8-week break and I felt during the drive how badly I missed it! The adrenaline is back and it is so relaxing to enjoy the sunrise during deflating. We had a very smooth start with some technical areas which everybody managed amazingly well (kudos to the first time fewbies). My personal highlight was the climb to the top of pink rock, I did this before on my third carnity ride and I was mentally struggling and loosing a lot of power during the climb. About 15 rides later I made it easily without any struggle and I still had a lot of power to spare, for me this was the evidence that we are learning so much about desert driving during all the rides. In the second part, the entire group felt a little bit tired and we the flow was interrupted by some stucks and recoveries. The third part was amazing, I really like when we stop for special trainings where we also have chances to drive obstacles twice and improve our skills. In my opinion this should be done more often especially from newbie to newbie plus drives. I took a lot out of the climbing sessions which were by the way "my first climbing for fun attempts" since my accident one year ago. I enjoyed them and also here I have to thank the entire carnity marshal community for all your patience and effort you are taking to make each member a better driver. In summary an awesome drive with a very strong finish. Special thanks to @Lawrence_Chehimi for your support and @Mark D for keeping the flock together. Thank you for an amazing Sunday morning, looking forward to next week!!! Was a pleasure to drive with you!!!
  2. Interesting thread. I bought my first Jeep fully customized with 35 inch beadlock tyres and I didn't know anything about off-roading. The set-up looked good and the shocks (radflo) were amazing but I also had some issues with it. Wheels and tyres were rubbing from time to time, some death wobble and I felt that I was missing power others had. Due to an accident I bought a new Jeep and followed a different approach I bought a stock sport and got some very cheap Rubicon Take-offs (shocks, springs and wheels) which gave me around 1 inch lift compared to standard. I drove this set-up for a year without any issues and was investing my money in quality of life mods like an onboard compressor, quick deflation valves, rigid lights etc. During different drives I was testing different suspension options (as a passenger) to understand which options are out there and if I am missing sth. not upgrading. After one year I am now driving "my set-up" which I have tailored to my needs mostly driven by experience I've made during the carnity drives. Would the initial set-up be enough to have fun, yes for sure! Do I drive my current set-up to the edge - probably sometimes. Do I need it? Definitely not! Attached the important mods with reason: onboard compressor (spontaneous deflating, security reason in case of accident the heaviest part is connected with the car) Quick deflate valves (I lost a valve during a night barbecue before, shitty experience) Offroad lights (every torch is better than the standard jeep halogen lights) Terraflex suspension lift (had the feeling I needed some more ground clearance, following alexraptor) FoxShocks 2.0 remote reservoir (build momentum, less jumping - I wanted to have a soft solution) Fox 2.0 steering stabilizer (I had some issues in the left shoulder which is gone now) Terraflex spacers to fit 33inch tyres with stock rims (I am running on BFG-AT, I actually wanted to have the Cooper tyres which were sold out and I needed them quickly) I think there is no right or wrong and my approach was the more expensive one for sure. But only if you try stock and you have a comparison with others and your previous build you really know what you need. I am happy to offer test drives and further information about the experience I've made so far.
  3. Congrats and thank you in advance for all your future support! @Looper
  4. Hey Jaisrock, new level, new name! I will work hard to drive with you again, soon! Congrats, well deserved!
  5. @Davie Chase Congrats my friend, you deserved it! You've not only been a great chap during the drives we had together but you also developed into a leader and supporter very quickly. Its amazing how you jumped the levels during my forced absence because of my transmission breakdown. I hope I am able to keep up that we have another drive together soon!
  6. Hi@Islam Soliman, hi all, I have to step out this weekend my engine light is on and my car is not really shifting anymore. Seems to be a serious issue with the transmission. I have no hope that Jeep will fix this tomorrow. So guys on the waiting list, you are the lucky ones...for me it will be a sad weekend, I will probably cry on Sunday morning because I'll miss this amazing drive! Have fun and I hope my Jeep will be ready for next week again. Sorry for the inconvenience, Islam! Regards, Felix
