  1. Looks like the valve covers were also replaced, engine looks and runs like new. proper test will be tonight’s drive @Benjamin
  2. My Gladiator Sandrunner came from Western motors in Abu Dhabi , it had only 34km and had never been registered, but I bought it from Cars24 , I did get a very good price. And it comes with a lot of standard upgrades like larger axles, fox remote reservoir shocks, rear locker, bed lined and railed, aux buttons, plus other features.. the Sandrunner/Mojave is worth a look I’m guessing the 2024 models won’t be seen here until q2 2024.
  3. I may have misspoke , don’t believe the head gasket went, shall know shortly. 2no gasket cylinder head covers, one of each bank. And a kit of seals to go in the covers. Lttle higher up in the engine for then the head gasket and seemingly a common item to leak as it ages. The covers are made of plastic too. Then we have the pcv valve as you replace at the same time. Then the crankshaft oil seal Followed by The timing chain gasket kit. Plus a some random other seals and a whole coolant refill as the front of the car and radiator came off to get access to the engine.
  4. I love that movie and often when in the desert drive with background music scores from John Williams , including close encounters.
  5. Lol good one @Felix Obst , fun being at the front too, I’m used to being near the back of the convoy.
  6. Agreed @Krishna R really nice drive , lots of variety, great introduction to me for fewbie plus level. Thank for you comment, I’m still very much learning and not to seasoned yet but I’m getting getting in sync with the Gladiator driving style, it can can handle almost anything except really turns.
  7. An update on the patient: Crankshaft Seal VVL Seal Gasket Cylinder head cover. Timing chain gasket (none available in country)
  8. Well done @Imteeaz, looking forward to availing of your support.
  9. Yeah it’s strange, we are second owner but history is all agency. Indeed jeep bucks should have their own currency
  10. Thank you all for the wishes, looking forward to the new level and if I can find the ultimate crest for the Gladiator
  11. We got it booked in for a check on Wednesday m, but I had a chance for a closer inspection today. 3 things discovered. 1. the other location we park the jeep has oil spots , so it’s been leaking at least since Swehan 3 weeks ago. Oil level is still good. 2. Running paper up around the crank there is no oil. Only on the underside. 2. Running finger around oil pan has small oil seep everywhere including the drain plug. im hopeful it’s just the oil pan gasket , good to have another jeep in the driveway to reference. Interestingly there seems to be a mix of fasteners holding the pan on the wrangler vs uniform fastener type on the gladiator. Last pic is of the newer gladiator
  12. I’m gonna remove myself from the event @Gaurav. I was being optimistic that I could make it and I have a Jeep down that needs to be looked at. Hope you all have a lovely time.
  13. As the old adage goes , if it’s leaking it must still have oil in it. After yesterdays drive while adjusting the steering wheel angle (thanks @Mark B for showing how to do this ) for the 5th time on @Benjamin Jeep Wrangler JL 18. I notice a few drops of oil on the ground, upon further inspection I noticed a coating of oil around the oil pan and front of the crankcase. I looked over the top of the engine around the filter and cooler couldn’t identify any leak. Checked dipstick and oil level is good, if maybe overfilled. I have an idea of where it’s coming from and suspect it might be worse under load and climbing. it’s certainly we as there are no other spots on the driveway except where it was parked yesterday. This morning the leak is still present but only a few drops. Booked appointment at agency still have one service left under contract. Any fellow wrangler owners here seen this type of leak before.
  14. @Mark B @Bashar Beasha good to see you out there again.
  15. @Jonny90 good to meet you.
