  2. Our tracks in the sand are erased by desert winds; what remains behind is only the pale full moon, its cold and distant light.

  5. Chasing moon shadows, yet beauty flees so quickly— when I open my palm I hold nothing but dry sand, slipping through the night.
  6. DRIVE DESCRIPTION CANCELLED In the far east, on the 15th night of the 8th month of the Lunar Calendar, Tsukimi (月見) is celebrated. (Literally translated as Moon Watching) In previous era's aristocrats would gather, compose and recite poetry, and play music under the moonlight of the Harvest Moon, on which the moon is at its most full, and at its brightest for the year. People would tell stories of the 'Rabbit on the moon', pounding sticky rice into mochi with a large hammer for everyone to enjoy, a symbol of selflessness and sacrifice (This is very hard work for a moon-rabbit!). Children, and those young at heart can squint up at the moon this time of year and spot the Rabbit on the Moon. In our calendar, Tsukimi falls on Oct 6th in 2025 The drive plan is enjoy a gentle and serene drive through Nahel, whilst catching fleeting glimpses of the harvest moon on our way to our Tuskimi location, where we will setup our chairs, and spend an 30-45 minutes gazing at the moon, which will be at the highest in the sky around 23:30. (Bring your own sticky rice, or whatever your favourite moon watching snack is!) To those feeling particularly artistic, we would all love to hear your moon inspired poetry! From here we will take a quick exit back to the tarmac to inflate at 00:00 (midnight). * this is not a dune bashing drive.. we will be slowly moving through the dunes contemplating the beauty of the moonlit dunes. 9. Thankyou everyone for being on time today. It was surely a hot one 🥵 We got our briefing underway at 14:00 on schedule under the only tree nearby... @Ale Vallecchi @ChrisW and @Aser laid down the expectations... Don't turn a refusal into a stuck, no overtaking, and no stopping as we had a lot of ground to cover. Our convoy lept into action picking a slow but steady path through the debris field by riding high on ridges and avoiding as much of the vegetation as possible... As we moved towards the fence, the terrain started opening up allowing for some nice high ridge riding and criss cross maneuvers across the dunes. Next we pushed south crossing ridge after ridge to get around the fence zone and head into the 'even bigger dunes' section that had us looping around and through giant behemoths with the farms in the distance to give the height done perspective. We were making pretty good time at this point, but normally convoys slow down after the first break...... NOT US! We turned the pace UP and started heading south west to find the construction road which let us cut up towards the sabkhas, but instead of cheating and making up speed in the flats... MORE RIDGES AND DUNES 😎 As we entered the faya/khatm small technical dune zone, we unfortunately lost @diego and @aser to passenger sickness as they had to take an exit. Thanks @aser for making sure everyone got out ok! The rest of us pushed along the fence and finally got the days reward... The completely untouched long range dunes of Faya... Ridge riding, Sidies and smiles were the order for this section, playing freely until we started losing the sunlight and had to take the track home to exit. We covered 75km in 3:45. That's excellent pace for a FB drive, and everyone handled the terrain perfectly. Thanks @Ale Vallecchi for finessing my lines, and to all of you for the great end to the weekend. @Steve Farmer @Krinesh @ChrisW @Diego @Zsolt @Aser @Sam Selim and our trusty sweep @Glenn W 👏👏👏👏 See you all again soon!
  10. Ok. Let's keep the secret garden a secret! Don't tell anyone about the awesome vegetation free terrain we got today! (For the most part!) We started with a briefing by the trees, before heading into the sand. The mission: flatten every ridge we could find in QUDRA! I think we did a pretty good job, covered 40km in some beautiful terrain. Towards the second half the sand was becoming very hard to read as the sun was rising and us heading west, but we made it through! Everyone drove like a champion, was some great practise at hugging ridges and riding them as long as we could. Thanks for helping with recoveries @Imran Asghar @J-P L Looking forward to seeing you again in QUDRA sometime @DP1011 @Kashx2 @Dipu Francis @Krinesh @Zsolt @JC_E @Jeandre Bezuidenhout @Nizar Shawwa @Faraz94 We made quite a spaghetti map 🥰
