Drive Summary We rolled out at 20:00 sharp and started the night on some of the smaller dunes, giving everyone a chance to settle in and get comfortable with sidies and switches in the dark. The FB drivers were looking strong, so before long we picked up the pace and pushed into the larger rollercoaster dunes. That’s where things really came alive. The cars were roaring, the lines got bigger, and it was definitely starting to feel a little more FB+ than FB. Switches. Big sidies. Plenty of speed. And a lot of fun. From there, we started working east toward the ridge-riding section of Khatim, where we enjoyed some longer ridge lines before stopping for a quick break. @ChrisW also gave us a demo of his new light controllers — very cool stuff! Then it was eastwards again, this time through some smaller, flowing rollercoaster terrain before we finally reached the BIG BIG stuff in Fayah. Big dunes. Big speed. Big Gs. We dropped down past the anomaly, where the convoy finally suffered its first proper stuck of the night. After a quick recovery, we decided it was as good a place as any to stop for coffee. Thirty minutes of coffee, chatting and cooling down later, we packed up and hit the road home. A really fun night with a convoy that handled everything thrown at it. We will be linking some of the play areas, climbs and classic landmarks within this classic dune driving area. Made for finding your rhythm and building confidence behind the wheel. untilCarnity Off-Road Club Drive Description We’re starting from the easternmost edge of Al Adlah, heading straight into a narrow corridor packed with some fantastic star-shaped dune formations. The opening section will keep things tight and technical as we thread our way through the stars. As the terrain opens up, the smaller formations give way to large, long-range dunes — ideal territory for practising smooth criss-crossing, controlled transitions and maintaining flow across the ridges. Expect a drive that rewards good positioning, momentum and reading the terrain ahead. The aim isn’t to rush — it’s to find that sweet spot where the convoy flows effortlessly across the dunes. ☕ The final 20 minutes are reserved for something equally important: iced coffee lattes, camp chairs and some good conversation under the desert sky. Camp chair is mandatory.
