Abu Dhabi to salalah road trip

am planning for abu dhabi to salalah road trip this EID, with my wife for 6 days,

i heard in news boarder visa stamping is no more from march 2018 and have to apply online visa , can any one guid me on this , and is it possible to get car insurance form Abudhabi for oman visit

It all depends on your nationality/passport. Some people can just go through and get visa on arrival, some need to be prearranged.
