GLS - Missing AUX Port? (No it's not in the glove box)

Recommended Posts

Hi all,

Just bought a 3dr Pajero 2018 GLS mid option to take on road trips.

I'm trying to connect my phone to the AUX Port because the sound quality with Bluetooth is very off-putting.

The screen has an AUX option but there's no plug in the glovebox or anywhere I could see.

Is it somewhere else? Do I need to take apart my car to plug in an adapter?

Thanks and looking forward to becoming part of the club!

Hi @mist30033, perhaps in the mid options it was not added. In our full option 2008 model it was also not there, but there was a workaround:

If you're a bit handy with a soldering gun, this takes about 1hr of your time only, if you are not confident, then perhaps take it an car radio installation shop and show them this option.

Another option is to checkout the last versions of Pajero (anniversary edition) which came with a fancy touch screen. Perhaps this can be a replacement of the stock radio, but will cost quite a bit more.

if you don't like BT quality then time to replace the whole unit (along with speakers and door deadening, as there is none so naturally the sound will be dull and "plastic"). AUX introduces double digital-to-analog (DA/AD) conversion which dramatically decreases signal to noise ratio, so don't expect any improvements there.
