Warbs
Hi all, I was just curious if anyone had visited Moreeb Dune and/ or the International Festival. Havent seen anything on the forums about it. If so, any thoughts? Realise it's a bit of a trek, but worth visiting either the dune or the festival? Many thanks for any insight. AlexM
Moreeb always worths a visit, either off-festival or during it. During the festival, it is a bit of a mess, but enjoyable nonetheless. If you decide to camp, drive off a bit from the dune itself, as the noise from buggies will be there 24/7. Off-festival, @Frederic's Untamed Liwa series have been a hit, but check your level and requirements, if they resume this season (I hope so). Season is just starting, and we are all looking for what to come)
Frederic
I usually steer clear from from the LIWA festival as it’s too loud and too busy for me. I will be traveling in December but will definitely resume the “Untamed LIWA” series in Jan or Feb next year when it’s perfect for cool camping nights 😉 6 "Go as far as you can see; once you get there, you'll be able to see further." Imran Asghar
I usually go every year for a few days. Set up camp far far away and drive around during the day and watch the shenanigans in the evening, sit in the car park and cook a meal whilst watching. A highlight for me is monster jam it's absolutely epic. You can find the schedule of events on Instagram. I personally love the whole vibe but finding a good spot to sleep is key and also if your alone confidence and ability to drive around the liwa dunes quite deep at night to get your sleep is paramount. They have decent shower facilities there and a really good food area with all the stalls you can imagine along with a big town type set up. It even has a Lulu for all your ingredients. I personally love it. They do a nice firework show most nights and over new years etc.

Even non-adventurous family members enjoy it. The competition is fairly easy to follow and quite dramatic, with cars flipping and blowing up and so on. You need to book weeks in advance if you want to camp in the official campsites with the facilities. Hotels become ridiculously expensive.
Imran Asghar
There's an app called liwa sports club that's where you can book tickets and stuff.
