  3. DRIVE PLAN 🏜️ Dune with the Sadness — Saad to Miheyyer 🏜️ Fewbies and above, it's time to leave your worries in the dust! Join us this Sunday afternoon as we carve a fresh line from Ramlat Al Saad to Miheyyer — no sadness allowed on these dunes. We'll air down and roll out as the afternoon heat starts to ease, chasing that golden sunset across untouched sands. Perfect terrain for newer drivers to build confidence, practice throttle control, and soak up those big desert views. Expect good vibes, patient marshals, and plenty of photo stops. Bring water, snacks, and a full tank. Many thanks to @Ale Vallecchi who will be supporting me on this drive. We will aim to be rolling by 3.30PM and finish at a stop on the E66 before sunset. 7. Thanks @ChrisW for the drive, happy to finally see you leading a drive, especially in Salamat 👍👏👏 Always good to catch up with old friends, Carnity is the safest convoy to test drive new cars. Once again, you saved me, this time with 3 zip ties 😂 Looking forward to drive with @Andrew John Melvill next time ✌️
  8. Thank you for a great drive @ChrisW and everyone that was there. I had a blast and learned loads. Couldn’t have asked for a better group for my first foray into Salamat.
  9. Hey guys - many thanks again, I had a lot of fun going out with you all this morning. It was a varied drive, starting with some surprisingly clean and fun to drive on sands around Old Lady Dune, before a much less comfortable trip across the technical dunes to go past the airport and into Salamat itself. Following our short break we moved through the Oasis Half Bowl, 360 Bowl, Al Yarhar Bowl and finally the Egg Bowl, before using the last 20 minutes to just enjoy the slopes. Thank you to @Asif Hussain and @Andrew John Melvill for your support, and it was great to see @Diego, @Krinesh and @Zed at the back with the trucks! Finally well done @Danie, you stepped up well today and did your first drive in Salamat nicely. I was a little late in starting the track recorder, so the numbers below are actually a bit more like 3 hours driving and 65 km distance covered. 10. My rear bashplate was made at Titan Performance, they made it custom. My front plate was made at Machinehead.
  11. Thank you so much for the lead @Frederic!! It was an amazing day and I enjoyed the route and the drive 😀. Thanks for all the support from @Giacomo, @Glenn W and @nithish468 and all the fellow drivers. I will definitely get the required gears before next drive.
  12. Thank you everyone for a lovely drive this morning! Luckily it was not that hot out today which gave us time for some great cardiovascular digging excersises to keep our hearts strong. Shovels and smiles all round!
  13. Hi. I got my front and rear bash plates fabricated and fitted by DNC Auto Repair in DIP 1. They will.also do a flag mount. Cheers
  14. Was a nice drive and surprisingly didn’t feel as hot as the last couple of week ends! Great driving from everyone - always great to see new faces and new people joining the club. The couple of stucks/refusals were good to have as they can always provide valuable learnings for all. Thanks @Frederic for the lead, was exceptionally smooth and enjoyable. @Glenn W thanks for the support glad you were in the group today buddy. Glad you were there as a solid sweep @nithish468 Thank you all, see you next time!
  15. Such fun and challenging drive that was today guys, I really enjoyed and absolutely learnt a lot from it. Hope you all did! Thank you all for arriving on time this morning, we started at 06:45am which it was perfect 👌🏻 Special thanks to @Emanuel for coming out today with the 2nd lead duties and keeping an eye on me. @Infaz, you done really well today dealing with so many steps that are really challenging for an extra LWB! @Carl Stanley & @Ash S., it's always a pleasure seeing and driving with you guys. Keep up the good work and looking after those 2 beasts! Amazing support from @Mahesh_ & @Jose Luis Campos, you guys done a great work today. Thanks you so much. Also @Mahesh_, many thanks to your passenger with his photography skills/passion, I look forward to seeing them all. Enjoy the rest of your weekend and see you again soon!
  16. Well driven today guys! Fantastic support from @Giacomo, @Glenn W and @nithish468in the sweep! @Pierre-andre Nutte@Nagarjun S As we spoke, some good pressure gauge and valve core removal tool: Digital Pressure Gauge: https://amzn.eu/d/0fewjckb Valve core removal tool:https://amzn.eu/d/02tRDbkT Thanks to @Jose Luis Campos who first tested this pressure gauge. It's also my favorite now. @Pierre-andre Nutte On the Pajero, a rear skidplate will be needed to keep that rear bumper intact. @Andrew John Melvill@Ishak@Emanuel@Jose Luis Campos where did you get yours fitted? It's fine to mention the shop in this case. This is often combined with the bashplate in the front as well, let me know if you did both at the same shop. A flag bracket will also be needed, now that he has the flag pole Thanks everyone!
  17. Wouldn’t change a thing, Zeddy…I learned how to fix cars in the far side of Liwa with you!
  18. @Zed If you extra promise to make sure your fluids are topped up, battery leads torqued down and gearbox linkage is tight…then of course!
  19. Hi @ChrisW just bought a new car and renewed my subscription, but this is the only drive for Sunday. Can I still squeeze in and follow from the back of convoy? 😊
  20. RSVP NOW CLOSED Dear @Asif Hussain @Danie @Andrew John Melvill @Krinesh @Diego - looking forward to seeing you all tomorrow morning. The drive order is as below, and we will use Channel 3 (446.056-25). We will meet at the point as advertised before: https://maps.app.goo.gl/EyhEGuc87TSvU23o6 We should aim to meet from 05.30 and be rolling no later than 6am, ideally earlier than this given we are a small and experienced convoy. The plan will be to move across to the Old Lady Dune, explore the slopes there as a gentle warm up, then drive cross country heading south between Al Saad and the airport before reaching Salamat from the north side. Our mission in Salamat will be to visit a number of the bowls - nothing crazy in view of the temperatures and soft sands, but a chance to stretch our right foot and practice our skills at pace. We will take regular breaks for our cars and ourselves (!), and aim to complete by circa 09.00.
