DRIVE DESCRIPTION-WHAT TO EXPECT

Very few places on Earth can rival the mesmerizing beauty of Liwa, nestled within the Rub' al Khali, the vast expanse of the Empty Quarter – the largest uninterrupted desert on the planet!

Immerse yourself in the raw beauty of nature, far removed from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. Camp beneath a blanket of stars, serenaded by the sounds of the wilderness. Share stories around a crackling campfire, bonding with fellow adventurers over shared triumphs and tales of adventure.

Embark on a thrilling two-day adventure that promises to unveil some of the most immense sand dunes you'll ever encounter! 🐪🌄 More than a typical dune-bashing session, this drive is more suited to an overlanding style of driving, where endurance and your drive skills in technical soft sand will be challenged.

Good morning @Frederic, looking forward to this very much, will be spectacular without a doubt..!

Question on the extra fuel jerrycan, is that also needed for the long-range tank FJ? (160ltr capacity)

Last two years on the same drive, standard Wrangler JLU tank (70L-something) plus 20L jerrycan was more than enough. Can't imagine that 160L won't suffice)

Hi Alex, thanks for this, I didn’t think it would, but a rule is a rule.  Liwa is a long distance to travel to and then be frowned upon..!

@Frederic - Thank you for this most awaited event !!!Fantastic convoy as I see - Pretty much IM ;)

 I have 2 questions Please -

1. Looking at the convoy strength - Any insights on Pace of drive to come :D

2. In case I or someone prefers to exit same day i.e Satday evening ( Given the fact I have luxury of my Co-passenger for On Road drive back to home) Is this OK with you ?

Thank you and with all probabilities, see you on Satday morning !

You are right. If you have 160l on board you are totally fine.

Hi @DP1011

1. It is crucial for everyone that joins to understand that our cars will be jampacked with camping gear, jerrycan, wood, and recovery equipment, so it will not be a dune-bashing event. It will be more technically demanding at times. Not flying over 250m high ridges. As every year the aim is to join the magnificent views together, have a great laugh, and make sure we enter and exit safely, as we have learned that recovering vehicles or driver mistakes will be usually quite serious in Liwa.

2. The planned camp spot is two dunes away from Moreeb, so yes, if you prefer to leave the same evening you can definitely reach Moreeb in 10mins from the campsite and head back home.

Better yet, I’ll let my brethren of the small-tank persuasion establish market price through an open bidding process.
