idling and fule consumption issue

hi i have a honda civic hatchback 1.4i illusion which i had bought last month

on idling it consistently jumps up and down between 1000-2000rpm

which has been consistently happening for the past week

the other problem is it drinks fule like water the average is horrible

it is beyond my knowledge as i had a vw polo

the engine isnt misfiring or anything-it also starts on the key so what could it be

Sounds like AFM (Air Flow Meter) sensor issue. Better get it checked as AFM sensor is expensive and must be above 1500 aed atleast.
