Malfunction indicator lamp

Recommended Posts

Hi all.

I have honda city 2005 automotic car. Last week, after work I pulled out of a parking lot and accelerating and reeached a speed of 80 kmh. I then noticed the malfunction indicator lamp turns on at the panel (top left). Car moves steady in the "Drive" gear but I felt a big vibration/noise in "Reverse" gear (especially when Ac is on).

Next morning, I started the engine, the lamp gone and car moves steady. After two days, same thing happened again.

I took it to local mechanic, he tried all of his effort and did some computerized checking to find out the cause of problem. But still now he could not find any solution and raised his hand.

Can anybody have the same problem before. Apprciate your halp

Faisal.

Thanks for your prompt and detailed feedback.

It is showing "Engine warning light" (second one from the images below).

Car moves steady for around 10kms then "engine warning light" appears and causes some vibration.

If I stop the car in parking and try to apply the reverse gear then car vibrates more and could not move the car in reverse direction as long as I turn off the AC.

Appreciate your advice.

You welcome Faisal.

Your car problem is Chk engine light and i must say that its very very serious issue and sometime its as small as loose petrol cap cause this light too, so you nevr know whats in ur luck. Better check the petrol cap is properly tighten and air filter is clean and its box is properly clipped. If still happen without delay get the computer check done and see what it tells in the fault code.

Till then dont drive much, if your car is above 80k kms then also it could be from timing belt, and you got to change that. Keep me updated if i can be of more help to you. Cheers.
