dave
2004 model with 135k kms Audi S8 making sligh hesitation on full throttle since a month now. It was never like this before, and very slowly hesitation on almost every full throttle is becoming more evident now. Is it engine getting old and tired after 135000 kms of driving or something else. Car has been regularly serviced and very well taken care since 2 years. Thanks in advance.
zuhair
It looks like fuel pump is getting old and need change. As occasional hesitation is a start up of failing fuel pump. You can check the fuel pressure in Schroeder valve in fuel rail inside the engine bay. It should read above 30 psi to be acceptably ok.
dave
zuhair, what should be the next step after fuel pump.
dilshad
Well if fuel pump is good, I would doubt on spark plugs, HT lead and Ignition coil in respective priority. If fuel burning process has some minor glitch then this little hesitation can be possible and its too little to get recorded in car engine management system that you will not get any fault code. Or wait until it increase and can get recorded in fault code so that you can pinpoint and address it more specifically.
dilshad
Well after that you can suspect the air flow control system: Air filter, Throttle body, Air Flow Mass Sensor. etc.
