Keeping an old Jeep alive

Recommended Posts

Alright?

I've got a 16 year old Cherokee, which I've had from new and has been an absolute rock.

However, with 300, 000kms on the clock, there's now something every month that breaks. I service it at Saluki in Al Quoz, and they're the business.

Just before New Years it was a transmission mount that broke in the desert (which sucked), and now it's a leaky steering gearbox that needs fixing, a brake booster that needs replacing etc etc.

The crappy thing is that Jeep now no longer stock bits, so we have to get crap from the scrap yards in Sharjah. 9 days to find a brake booster that sort of works fer f**ks sake!

I'm on the verge of giving up on the old girl. I can't have a car that I'm filling up with no warranty parts.

Anyone in the same situation, and how do you keep your Jeep going?

OB

Are you aware of jeep spare part shop in sharjah BMW road. They usually stock old and Amercian specs jeep spare parts. If you tried that as well without any luck, then i guess its time to change for few year newer model.

Btw hats off for living with 1 vehicle for 16 years. DAMN GOOD.
