how to change the engine fan

i have heard that German cars are easy to do it your self rather then the japans

i have to get the engine fan changed and was wondering if i can get directions for how to go about it

Indeed its easy to change. Remove the cooling fan by placing a 32mm wrench on the fan nut and striking it with a large hammer to the right. When doing this the wrench should be held almost vertical and strike it quickly straight down on the left side of the end while holding tension on the wrench to the right.

If you need to change whole fan assembly including the viscose clutch, then remove radiator hose, air filter pipe, shroud, then take out fan and loosen the belt from pulley.
