Connect the scan tool in to the 16-pin which is generally present at the dashboard. While switching it on, the scan tool may ask for the name, VIN code or the manufacturing year of your car. Generally, all the scan tools are automatic as you switch it on. And as the tool identifies the connection, it will automatically show all the trouble codes related to your car.
